According to this link, Maryland meets with the BIG 10 Monday morning. If Maryland goes Rutgers follows them to the BIG 10 by Tuesday. Uconn then goes to the ACC hopefully right after.

It's hard to imagine Maryland would get this far to only say no, so this is going to happen we just have to hope we get the call.

Nice to know that Warde and the new BC AD are friends from their days at Michigan. BC should no longer be a problem for us.

As a fan you realize you have no control over any of this but you still can't help but be captivated by it. You read every article linked, you check twitter, Google, other message boards. You find yourself saying I hope we don't get when its all said and done.

That article certainly didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. I hope they aren't really sitting by their phone as the article states. Something tells me Tom Jurich isn't sitting idly by his phone.

They're not sitting around waiting for the call, lol. There's lots going on. Gov Molloy is very supportive. He needs to be, as there will be a call for stadium expansion, exit fees, etc.
Now you know why the 2014 schedule was left unfinished. Starting to all come into view, isn't it?

I don't believe that they are. Just that the article was written that way.

Too bad this didn't come out last week. Before the state budget news.

How do you figure? We have to schedule 4 out of conference games regardless.

We can schedule them against old BE foes.

Bingo

Meaning....who?

Rutgers' 2014 schedule is full.
West Virginia's 2014 schedule is full.
Cincinnati's 2014 schedule is full.
Louisvillle has 1 spot open in 2014.
USF has 3 spots open in 2014.

So, in your estimation, our grand scheme was to not schedule teams in 2014, because we were hoping for an ACC invite and subsequently wanted to schedule South Florida?

If we live long enough, we shall find out. Temple have any openings? I want revenge.

Color me a skeptic, but Warde may be good, but that would make him downright clairvoyant. I don't think leaving it blank was by design. Not that it won't be advantageous for us.

They should be lobbying for votes. Not waiting for a call. I am fairly certain they know the score.

I was actually thinking the same thing a couple of weeks ago - that there might be behind the scenes deals going on that could change conference affiliation. Filling in your non conference schedule depends on open dates and availability. If there's the possibility of changing conferences you don't know what those open dates will be, and this makes it tough to commit to scheduling OOC games if that variable is up in the air.
Is this the reason the schedule isn't done? Maybe not but the fact that it wasn't started to make me think more conference shuffling may be in the works.

So lets review. Despite the sturm and drang, does anyone really believe that we have two shnooks waiting by a phone for a surprise phone call? That our President isn't a step ahead of her contemporaries. Let's just say that despite the noncommital shrugs and "no idea" responses the press may be getting, there has been activity going on behind the curtains. Our leaders are tuned in. I sleep the sleep of angels.

LOL. I agree 100%. I am sure that there have been unofficial discussions with ACC schools over the past year. I trust Herbst. Also, I am sure she learned something after last year's rodeo.

If this happens, Can we dispense with the, "What has Warde Manuel done?''s and, "Fire Warde" comments?

It would not be his fault if it didn't happen and would not be the result of his efforts if it does happen.
