I've noticed he never gets the mop-up minutes when Elezaj and Paunovic come in. Is he injured or something? It seems strange otherwise that he's never seen the court in any of the blowouts. I think he was in for a minute or so in one of the exhibition games, but he's yet to have any in-season appearances.

Maybe our staff has gotten word from the team doctors that he's going to grow 7" in the offseason and put on 30# of muscle? Plan for Redshirt and he can be our big beefy bully forward for 4 years to the delight of Chief?

It's possible he's redshirting Marcus Johnson (oddly he's come up twice in my posts this week) played in one exhibition game for us in 07-08 then transferred to USC. He was granted a redshirt for the season.

I think he showed up on campus for spring semester like Akok and Alex did, and then was a red shirt the following year, before departing for Providence.

I'm pretty sure Floyd committed to UConn as a 2022 recruit in January 2021. He then reclassified to the 2021 class in the summer of 2021 and started school at UConn in the fall semester 2021. He sat out the entire 2021-2022 season as a redshirt before announcing he was transferring in April 2022.

That sounds more like it, but I realize mostly that I didn't care enough to look it up, and don't mind not getting it right.

When Floyd announced his transfer, it was received here with fear that there'd be a mass exodus from which we wouldn't recover, and with a sense of betrayal. The immediate panic turned out not to be the case...by a long shot.

There was kind of a big exodus that year. They lost Diggins, Floyd, Gaffney, and Akok. I think people were also worried about losing Samson.

Obviously all offset by bringing in Newton, Diarra, Joey, Alleyne.

I don't remember exactly when Newton committed but I want to say all four of the UConn players entered the portal before UConn officially got a commitment from anyone. Though I'm fairly certain a lot of people thought Newton was in the bag by the time a few of them entered the portal.
