Anyone else catch Arute talking about UCONN after taking 2 calls ftom UCONN fans?
He called UCONN "dysfunctional" from top to bottom.

They have been indecisive and short sited, dysfunctional is an abused word.
UConn fans should be angry. These traits have not only hurt football but the programs has put our other sports teams in a perilous situation.
If your a UConn fan you should be angry with that program.

A top 25 State U, with a top 5 BB program and a Top 50 (under normal circumstances) FB program shouldn't have to wallow at $2M a year while programs like Kansas St, Iowa St, Baylor, Ole Miss, Northwestern, Colorado, Utah, Wake Forest, BC, Rutgers, Pitt , and Cuse (yeah, I went there) rake in $20M+.

And we can't fill our 25,000 seat stadium for a football game - which is all that matters by the way. Wins and losses don't mean anything.

I mean, there are a lot of dysfunctional athletic departments around. We see it all over the region. BC, Rutgers, Penn State, Maryland, Syracuse a little bit. I don't know if UConn ranks badly given what we see from athletics in the northeast.

But if he's talking about football, I agree.

He actually said it about the entire university..."UCONN needs to stop begging to get in another conference and look itself in the mirror". also wouldn't comment on P's status or who might be a candidate if he was fired. He has been a huge UCONN supporter before...this time he seemed to take a HUGE shot at Herbst and Warde. He lives in CT too..I think the field at Central CT is named after him as well.

Not sure what people expect UConn to be. A top 5 basketball school and middling football school is enough.
Big market, lots of income, good academics.

Arute should look in the mirror and get some perspective.

UConn is not a top 25 school in athletics.

But if UConn is excluded, there are only 35 schools out there that are above.

Yeah, that was actually ME who was the caller. He certainly wasn't supportive of me asking him about PP's future here and any speculation, although I think at this point its completly fair game. Lol

Yeah- a minion of The Mussberger. When I was a kid I thought that when Brent talked to him on air he was calling him "Jackaroo". So I'm sorry he'll always be Jackaroo to me, and as such I can't take anything he says seriously.

Jack's family is from New Britain, also owned a construction business. CCSU's field (Arute Field) is named after Jack's father.
