Is it me? Or did anyone else find the part about Coach K calling to wish a high school recruit a happy father's day just a tad creepy? Or wrong? Or just not right?

Jabari is a great kid and story but having seen him play 20 plus times i think he is getting a little overhyped. He isnt the best player since LeBron, Oden and Dwight were better prospects. He isn't the type of player who will average 20 a game his freshmen year and i just think the expectations are getting to be a little much.

I admittedly haven't seen any full games of his live, but I am under the impression that this new hype is relatively recent and has just been sort of snowballing ever since that SI cover. If Jabari Parker was really close to Lebron everyone would have known a lot more about him already.

If he's considered the best player in the country for 2 years does that not count as alot of people knowing about him? The coach of the Olympic Gold Basketball team called his father on father's day.

He's been talked about for quite some time now, Lebron didn't start getting hype until after the end of his sophomore year when he outplayed Lenny Cooke in a summer AAU game. Parker has been getting hyped ever since he became the first freshman to start for Simeon High after they had a ban that freshmen couldn't play on the varsity team.

This story is much better than the one posted above. Interestingly, the author, Jeff Benedict, happens to be a Mormon, and and wrote the scathing book about the Mashantucket-Peqout tribe, in either the late 90's or early 2000's, and about the lawsuit brought by New London residents that led to the historic Kelo V New London decision at the U.S. Supreme court. His work is very good, and his treatment of Jabari Parker in his article is outstanding. I, for one, would love to see him in a Connecticut uniform. But alas, those chances are probably slim and none.
