Ncaa doesn't want us to win. Mass media doesn't want us to win. The so called blue bloods won't accept us winning. But all we do is win.... 360 teams start the year we've been the last team standing 4 times since 99. I wouldnt have it any other way.

You think everyone was in love with Duke by the time they won their 4th title? OK, Dukie V but people generally root against winners. Our advantage is that we do it from an underdog position. From now on get used to the hate and don't take it personal. The haters have their favorite schools, their favorite agendas and BTW things just got worse for them. We have KO.

F. Them. All. Being hated is just part of the job when you're on top. Newsflash to the rest of the CBB world: KO ain't going anywhere. This is his dream job. He's gonna have players running through walls and crushing opponents dreams season after season. By the time he's done, the championships won't be able to catch up to him. Get used to it if you aren't already, America, because this is UConn Country.

Ive never been prouder of the state im from, the school I went to, the team ive followed since I was 9... as much as malloy has our state the basketball team has made up for and then some. Unfortunately I had to move to south Carolina to avoid the ridiculous cost of living for my family but I will forever be a husky. My kids will be huskies. I wont forget.

Meh, don't need to gloat. We're just better than everyone else, they all know it. No need to rub it in. Except to Syracuse. Lol Syracuse. They are the "William Shea bracket" of College basketball. Full of promise early, then they start bragging about their achievements and promptly hit the suck hole.

In other words, they suck.

Laugh at our misery as we gloat at our victory.

Gary Parrish, in a fast column today, listed the 9 elite Programs in hoop that Coaches would leave secure positions to move to. No UConn in the 9. Unf-ingbelievable. A Week after the 4th NC & we aren't on his list. That's the way of the world.

That's simply a result of us being in the AAC. Put us in the B1G or ACC and we're easily on that list. It's not hatred, it's reality of our situation. Ollie and this team did UConn a HUGE service by guiding this team to a NC this year. Recruiting will be helped due to it. However, don't be fooled that it will continue at this high level should we stay in this dumpster fire league very long. I have total faith that KO is a great recruiter but if it comes down to who are you playing, UConn is at a disadvantage being in the AAC. Just look at what happened this year. SMU snubbed and they beat us twice. Being in the AAC is always going to be an uphill battle for us.

I don't understand why everyone is selling the AAC short.

It just doesn't make any sense to me.

How is it any kind of disadvantage to be affilated with a conference that has won every men's and every women's championship since the year the league was founded.

When one of your top programs is leaving this upcoming season and you're left with Cincy, Memphis, UConn, and......?? There's reason to sell the conference short. Sure, SMU has Larry Brown, for now. How long will that last? Tulsa? Tulane? ECU? Did anyone even know they had programs or let me fix that, anyone ever watch a single game these teams played in? Tulsa won C-USA so maybe people have slight memories of their loss to UCLA. The other programs? Temple is hit or miss. Houston used to be good and has a younger squad. Anyone else?

At least part of the reason for the hate probably has to do with the way Uconn wins, especially in the Final Four. Lockdown defense frustrates the hell out of the fans of the prima donna schools, particularly when it's their team that is getting locked down. They call the games ugly and poorly played, and the announcers make excuses like "Well, Florida picked the worst time to have their worst offensive game of the year", or "I guess Kentucky's freshmen finally had their inexperience come back to bite them", blah blah blah. Never mind that this Uconn team did everything they wanted to do offensively in this tournament against the biggest and baddest teams in the country. They can't deal with the fact that we're just better, on both sides of the floor.

As a Giants fan, it feels exactly like the Super Bowl runs in the late 80s/early 90s, when they'd beat down the Niners, Bills, etc., in low scoring games, and everyone would cry about it.

From a recruiting standpoint, we have become THE U of college basketball - not a bad thing.

I think there was just a hint of sarcasm in the Prankster post...

I did. Saw a game at the old Field House vs. East Carolina, probably in 1973 or 74. It might have been in that old Christmas invitational tournament we used to have. I recall having absolutely no idea who they were or where they were from, a very poor man's NC State. We did win the game, but IIRC not by a wide margin, maybe nine points?

Not speaking to his other posts, but in this case, I didn't think politics at all. It's just a simple fact it is cheaper to live some place than others. That's why a lot of people move to Florida.
