It's not about the conference

It's about UConn. Sure this mess of a conference we've got ourselves in is not what anyone would have planned. But it's good enough for now. There are enough decent teams.
People forget, and act like the Big East was always putting 8, 9, 11 teams in the NCAA tournament. It wasn't always that way. The conference was way down in the 90s, and UConn carried a bunch of mediocrities around with no trouble at all to our national standing.
And as for our brand being brought down by associating with the Tulanes and ECUs of the world, we've done fine associating the DePauls and South Floridas for the past eight years.
No one wants to stay in the America 12 or whatever it is, but our future is up to our team, not anyone else's.

I'm nervous for how this alignment works out, but honestly I think that Memphis, UConn, Louisville, and Cincinnati next year will be better than anything that the new catholic conference has to offer and by the time Louisville leaves, we will be gone as well
