It's hard not to look for parallels between last year's run and this year's, and they come readily.
In the Sweet 16, we faced a tough, athletic, defensively-minded team who shoot poorly (2023 Arkansas #54 O/#17 D; 2024 SDSU #63 O/#11 D) and won big after leading by 30.
In the Elite 8, we faced an elite offense who likes to get up and down, but is a sieve defensively (2023 Gonzaga #1 O/#73 D/#39 tempo; 2024 Illinois #4 O/#80 D/#66 tempo) and we blew open a narrow halftime lead en route to leading by 30.
