I don't know why this is so difficult for people.

What needs further investigated is why the guy making the measurements at the NFL combine comes up with unique numbers from other places, like the Senior Bowl. But that is a topic for the football ball (and - also - I am not all that interested in men's hand sizes).

To be fair, Rutgers wasn't inflating the career earnings of those players, they were merely intentionally misleading everyone as to where those players developed their skills while in college.

1 to 1.5 inches shorter barefoot height compared to listed height seems to have always been the standard. Then there are guys like Edey and Clingan who are only listed .25 less than their actual height Edey listed at 7'4 while his actual barefoot height is 7'3.75, Clingan listed at 7'2 while his actual barefoot height is 7'1.75.

So Ace Bailey being listed 2.5 inches taller than his actual barefoot height is noticeable and not the norm.

Listed heights are in shoes, shoes usually add 1-1.5" of height, so therefore he is about 6'9" in shoes. You can literally browse through past combine measurements to see how this works on the official NBA website.

I swear we just went through this exercise about 2 months ago when a poster died on a hill because he didn't understand how heights are listed, I figured it would take a year before another poster went up there to join him but this is a relatively quick turnaround
