It Is The Courant's Duty

What duty? Well, the duty to push another UConn WCBB article out in the quiet hour every afternoon. And it is my duty to report it.

Every one of these has a little kernel in it. Here it is.

The problem with truisms ... they're true.

Said Auriemma, "For 91 straight times, we got one shot at it. You got one game to get this right. If you get it wrong today, you start all over. And I'm proud of the fact that we've been able to do it. It's quite remarkable, really, when you think about it."

He said the other day the 91 streak may just be better than a Nat'l Championship and he also said we have more important things to do this year. Contradictory maybe. Just don't contradict him!

He's also gone from acting like the streak's no big deal and he doesn't think about it to saying it's pretty important. Maybe he was trying to get his players to not think it was that big a deal. It would be hard for them to think that it wasn't. It's their era and their streak.

The streak was always important. Geno was unable to talk about it until #91 actually happened. Now "this" team owns the record going forward. That alone is all the motivation they need - should make coaching them now a breeze.
