It’s Oklahoma (3/21/25 @ 9:25p on TNT)

Because they’re been hammering teams offensively. You can’t rely on the data so much that you ignore the why. They win most games by 20.
lol we all know you’re fanboying like crazy over Florida lately but there’s no law that says if you’re playing real good on offense that you can’t also play good on defense!

It’s an interesting stat and the metrics suggests their defense has slipped lately vs earlier in the season

We can beat anyone. I wanna believe that the team learned from Creighton. Play top D. Run your sets. We win. Period. It’s freaking March.
We need to learn from the SH and Nova games (and the select few others) where we played with sustained intensity. I believe that is what is going to make or break us in the tournament. While I think we are flawed: we have witnessed Tarris dominate on the glass and single handedly drive us, we have witnessed Liam not being denied, and we have yet to witness our three point shooters all have good games. We are very low floor, pretty high ceiling...at least offensively.

I think we can beat anybody. One at a time, play our A game.
We can beat anyone and also lose to anyone in this field. The problem is we haven't put together a good five game streak all season. We depend too much on guys making outside shots. Not a ton of inside or midrange scoring and you know we don't get a lot of foul shots. We had the Dream Season. How about a Miracle Season?

Porter Moser of Loyola-Chicago fame leads OK so he has good Tourney experience, should be fun game.

At least he's moved on from Duke, for now

So they’re good at drawing FTs and guards penetrate off the dribble well. What else do we have?

Well, we foul a ton, and Oklahoma averages more FT’s per FG attempted than any other team we’ve faced this season.

And when they get to the line, they shot 80% (top 10) as a team.

Not great!
We've played guys like Ashworth who initiate contact at every opportunity. Eliminate those goofy reach ins 30 feet from the basket and we'll be okay. I'd like to see us start by feeding Tarris and work on an inside out game. It was easier with Cam and Tristen creating for Donavan but I think we can make it work then mix in perimeter and motion. They won't know what hit them at that point.

Tough draw. Oklahoma can be good. And Florida is a nightmare right now.

I think it was ESPN analysts that said OK plays 3 point guards and that is bad for us. They also really like Florida to make the Final 4 so a tough draw for us.

9:25 pm tip on Friday night - TNT
Can’t remember…will we find out soon about a time for a potential 2nd round game is or is that not till they know the teams?

UConn has always had success out of the West Region. If they play good, aggressive defense & rebound, I can see another Final Four.

Like UConn's success against New Mexico State in the West first round game in 2022?
