It’s lining up again

Marquette's win will help them more than the loss will hurt them. All the voters who had voted Kansas #1 will try to cover their choice by inflating Marquette's victory. Purdue, AZ, Marq., Kansas, UConn. we don't get any lovin'.

I agree, although I think there's a chance we jump Kansas. Either way I expect our matchup next week will be #4 vs #5.

If Zona loses to MSU today then yes

Too bad MSU is overrated, yet again

I think the "Yard" would be screaming for Izzo's head already :)

Should be Purdue, Zona, Marquette, Uconn, Kansas. Marquettes games were more impressive than ours. Marquette played dumb in places and there was still just a 3/4 court heave difference in that game. Purdue was lights out from 3pt range.

???

It's his many final fours that have him considered a great coach.
No doubt he’s a great coach. I’m merely pointing to the fact that he only has one title to show for it in all those years, and recently his teams seem to have early exits in March.

He was in the S16 last year and the Final Four in 2019.

2020 won the B1G regular season before covid. His 2021 & 2022 teams weren't great.

Will be:
Purdue
Marquette
Zona
KU
Good guys
I think Zona and Marquette are flipped if Zona beats MSU today, other than that I think this is spot on. KU is not going to fall as hard as some people think, a loss to #4 but a win against #7 makes for a minimal drop, even if the eye test says they’re not as good as rankings would indicate. I’d rather be the lower ranked team going into that game anyways.

Why? They have a double digit loss.

Marquette is the question
For some reason the voters love Kansas more than us. And a loss to MQ plus a win over Tenn may be enough to keep them at 4. Also, a MQ loss to Purdue shouldnt drop them too much either. The big factor is AZ/MSU today. Will be interesting to see where we’re at on Monday.

Having Marquette play 2 within 24 hours shouldn't count against them.

It will be Purdue-AZ-MQ-KU and then us. 1-3-4 will have played each other and they won’t penalize significantly. AZ took care of Sparty tonight.

Agree. But would like to see that big digit next to us for the first time in a while. It’s been like 15-20 years right? Was 04 our last number 1 ranking?

Pretty much everyone did to start the season, and the beat up on everyone except Kentucky, who they still beat. It was a reasonable take when we lost Jackson, Hawkins, and Sanogo.

There's just no way that they're going to stay ranked above us with a 14 point loss.

I think we were ranked #1 at some point in 09. We were like 24-1 or something like that before Dyson went down.
