The fact that Mora hasn’t thanked the university and fanbase is a bit telling. Especially during the Thanksgiving season. Can’t imagine what caused him to have such disdain for this university and fanbase. Yes, he saved UConn football but we also gave him the opportunity when no one else would. All I’m saying is, it’s weird.

He has a conference can at CSU on 12/3/25 I believe. I am sure he will make some statements.

Some CSU fans aren't exactly excited either since they just hired a 65 years old coach.

There's no way he couldnt have his agent write something quick for him to approve. It's like the bare minimum. Would love to know what was brewing behind the scenes maybe?

I would think that Mora would want to communicate with the UConn supporters prior to Monday. Start with s clean slate st CSU. I am assuming that he will send a communication but I may be totally wrong.

Agreed it would have been a nice gesture on Mora's part but not gonna kill him for that.

I'll reserve the "killing" part for the those in state media who don't think this wasn't a lateral move. yes, colorado state's path to the CFP is slightly better than UConn's. But the "Mora bolted because UConn isn't a conference" narrative -- as posited on Ch. 30 -- is ridiculous. (also it was suggested Colo St. is in the "powerful" Group of 5, as if UConn isn't considered a G5. (which, if true, means ND isn't a P4).

Storrs is 2,812 miles from Sun Valley, Idaho. Fort Collins is 733. It really isn't more complicated than that.

I'm shocked by it and nothing really shocks me anymore. If we were going to get a video thanking the University, players, fans, AD Dave, Hurley, Geno, the state it would've come out right away. Not even a statement from him, it's gross.

It’s crazy. Even high school recruits will post a screenshot of their notes app when they de-commit thanking the coaching staff. Takes 10 seconds to plug into an AI generator. All of this feels intentional.

The fact that Mora couldn’t even bother to post some kind of message, no matter how half assed, speaks volumes.

We were the only ones willing to give him a chance again. We gave him practically everything he asked for (and no, we couldn’t magic up an P4 invite but it’s not as easy as simply wishing it were so). And this is how he treats us. Alright. Really speaks to his character, frankly.

Stop. This is D1 college football. Happens every year. Mora doesn't have distain for UConn or fanbase. Sure he has been very preoccupied with prospects of a new job and moving his family, etc, etc. So not weird.

That’s one thing we learned about Mora - all his actions and comments are intentional. There is a message here. Unfortunately, I am too dumb to figure it out.

I also think this hurts his “building something special / brotherhood” stance. It will be interesting if he tries that same narrative at CSU. We always think that maybe people spewing this craap actually mean it. I fell for it. But if he tries it there, everyone will know he is just like everyone else and will bolt as soon as there is a better opportunity. Good luck getting buy in from players and fans.

It’s not ridiculous. He was told they’d be in a conference and shared that with recruits. It was a BIG dea to him.

And, sorry, but if u think UConn is a better fb gig than CSU you’re simply mistaken. It should be but it is not.
I think you’re misunderstanding: this isn’t about him leaving, it’s about him going ghost and not saying anything to the fanbase. Nothing was said about the decision itself.

I still am not convinced CSU is that much of an upgrade that you’d leave UConn for that. I think it was as simple as a personal decision.

As I wrote on another post, he doesn't think we're worth his time anymore. He was lauded by many, including myself, as finally being an adult in the room...yet the whole sneaking off in the dead of night without any final words or well wishes to the school and fans who grew to love him is piss poor and reeks of petulance. He got us to 2 winning seasons, 3 bowls, but left before getting us an elusive 10th win. I called him a coward for how he left, and I am disgusted with how he just ghosted the UConn community.

So he has time to change his Twitter profile picture to a photoshop of him in a Colorado State hat and jacket but not a 5 sentence thank you?

I feel like JM was a hired consultant to come in, do his best to fix what he could, and move on. Everything else was just conversation. Seems like it was all an act to me. At CSU he can focus 100% on football and not CR and all the other distractions we have. Could be the same thing at CSU, turn it around, collect his fees, retire. JM is nothing like Dan Hurley or Geno.

plus his fake green teitter pic is cheesy and tacky

Wait till Monday or Tuesday it's a holiday weekend y'all are getting a bit emotional. If a statement was released this week then it would be "why would you make a statement the week of thanksgiving" or "how phony to release a statement already how phony".

I agree but also understand why people feel a certain type of way. I mean, he immediately changed his profile pic and location, something he hadn’t done here. Maybe there is something later but I don’t blame feeling slighted. Not to mention the blocks on Twitter.

Nick Saban's gut reaction to the news indicates otherwise among those in the biz .... uconn is in the shadow of ESPN, NY and Boston. Fort Collins? not the end of the world, but you can see it from there

It’s just strange even if he has beef with the administration he wouldn’t do some lip service for the fans on the way out. Posting the new profile picture with no context felt intentional.

Wait. He had a beef with the administration?
