Don't we have a lot of forwards with Karaban, Johnson, Ross, Stewart? I guess we are seeing Johnson more of a 5. Also sounds like he might be a 2-3 year player correct?
Yeah from the interview of his acceptance he sounded like Andre but glad you know he can score in more ways than him.High upside with this kid. Similar build to Andre, but more wired to score rather than distribute/play make. We eating good.

Does he have a better looking shot and does he have a mid-range jumper?I don't think he's more wired to score than Andre at the same age. He averaged half the points Andre did in AAU and HS. Though to be fair, Andre was playing on pretty bad teams in both so he had a different role.
Rip Hamilton?!??After watching the highlights, I'd compare him to RIP with more athleticism. Strong all around game. Inside and outside. He seems to have a killer instinct to take it to the hole.
Excellent ranking analysis 429. You sound light years closer to the inside action than many of us. I'm seeing a pattern - good hard-working kids from stable two-parent housholds. Seems like it's at least a priority, maybe mandatory since our success trajectory. Staff would pass on a super talent with sketchy background. Am I making stuff up?It's not an exact science... pretty much all 4* players are similar. The difference between 25 and 100 is a single hot weekend in AAU sometimes (see: Akok).
Fit and mentality are what makes the biggest difference with 4* players, and that isn't going to be reflected i nthe ranking. It's why a Rahsool can look like a 2* player and Tyrese can have an NBA contract. The soft skills matter just as much as athleticism or ability to shoot in recruiting.
Abraham has the right mentality, is team first, and has always been a winner. Makes me think that #79 could look a lot more like #20 by the time he graduates.

It really is a special staff, we need to really enjoy it while they're all still here. It's the perfect mix- 2 young studs in Kimani and Luke who will be guiding their own ships soon and Tom the veteran who has been though it all and who everyone loves. Tom will be here until he no longer wants to coach. Kimani and Luke will get their own programs to run soon enough and Hurley will make great hires but we need to appreciate this group of guys while they're still together. Can’t say it enough great quotes about 1) How confident he is in Hurleys ability to develop him & 2) the great job Luke did building a relationship with him.
Luke can’t get enough praise for his ability to help us expand our recruiting range & bring us back to a national stage.
Our assistants are A1
Great start to the class

A foundational Big 3 of Abraham, Ngongba and Nowell would be chef’s kiss
Anyone else who wants to join them will be icing on top
20% I hope is 3pt range? Not overall.Shot is much better looking structurally, but through high school and AAU, he's only shooting about 20%. Much better project to take on than a total rebuild like Andre, though. I can only recall him taking a couplefew mid-range shots.
Nothing to go on beyond a gut feeling but I think Nowell will be our third commit for 24, not second.Mark your calendars for July 23, 2023… Mr. Nowell will become a Husky.
The odds are obviously way more in your favor with a stable/two parent upbringing but it certainly isn't fair to say you have a sketchy background if you were raised by just a mom or by a grandmother. Every situation and every person is unique...I wouldn't call having a single parent a "sketchy background." But we are definitely recruiting family-first players with good character. Plenty of our players have non-nuclear families.

Maybe you didn't mean to, but you said the staff is focusing on hard working kids from 2 parent households and passing on kids from sketchy backgrounds. Maybe you meant it as 2 separate thoughts, but it did not read that wayWhoa Nelly. That’s not what I said.
And do we know it's a he?Anyone know who he is yet?

Yeah, not seeing that at all. Less offensively talented (so far) version of Caron Butler perhaps? I'm not sure we have a great comp here.Rip Hamilton?!??
If you are throwing out a theory that blossomed in your own head without any actual proof, yep, you are making stuff up.Excellent ranking analysis 429. We are very “Duke” like now and starting to recruit some of the same players. Gotta get the top 5 star from Maine class ‘25The odds are obviously way more in your favor with a stable/two parent upbringing but it certainly isn't fair to say you have a sketchy background if you were raised by just a mom or by a grandmother. We are definitely focusing on a "type" much more than we did in the past. Calhoun would take chances and was almost a father Flanagan. There were some amazing successes with that approach but there were also some not so good results with those kids he could never reach. Now that it's rolling this staff isn't really taking any chances on kids.
