I've figured it out. He's Bobby "BSC" Diaco's father. Colors, rainbows, volcanos, Batman, fishcakes, loving each other, "somebody better tell 'em", it all ties together.

He's still and always will be an insufferable bore.

I enjoy his schtick. Wouldn't want a steady diet of him, but occasionally its kind of a cool change.
Have you ever been to Ghana?
No.
Well, why not?

The world wouldn't be quite complete without Bill Walton. He is a unique character.

I genuinely want what he was smoking before i die

This couldn't be any more phenomenal. You normally pay good money to hear monologues like this:

Boris Diaw. What a classical human being he is. It was 201 years ago today the act(?) of Beethoven's symphony #3 in B flat which escorted in the age of romanticism. And when I look at Boris Diaw...I think of Beethoven and the age of romantics.

That is Gold Jerry Gold.

If it was possible to pick any human being to do your own Eulogy, I would pick Bill Walton. A more glorious send off you could not conceive.

I'm watching the last five minutes of the game and I have enjoyed Bill Walton a great deal today. This may have been enhanced by my accidentally seeing the result ahead of time. So, no pressure and no rush. Walton showed a detailed knowledge of UConn, both historically and recently. He went out of his way to point out that no one has won more national championships in the last 17 years than UConn. As Ern pointed out, he tries to make it fun and not too serious. He also points out the best of both teams. So what that he loves to hear himself talk and wax poetic. And he may even know a bit about basketball, even if you have to look for it sometimes when he is reminding us about history (bringing up Pistol Pete Maravich for no apparent reason). I may not want him to call a serious UConn game, but I like him about a billion times more than Dick Vitale.

He said a guy was 5'10 when he was really 6'6. He said we lost to LMU on Thursday. Pronounces Shabazz Napier as Shabozz Napierre. Just goes on and on about stupid stuff. Plain annoying in my opinion. Really hope we don't get him again tomorrow.

He also called Larrier "Larry Terrier" the other day, and did not know that we had beaten Loyola Marymount. Excuse me, but he's getting paid to know those things, whether his brain is fried or not. He makes way too many mistakes, and that's only while he's bothering to do his job by watching the game he's supposed to be covering.

The out-of-left-field, non-sequitur nature of the Maravich reference made it funny to me. The exchange went something like this:

Other announcer: That's 2 more for Jalen Adams, who is following up a career high 34 points with another strong game today.

Walton: Do you think Adams will challenge Pete Maravich's scoring record?

Other announcer: No.

Walton goes on about Maravich's record.

Bill just felt like talking about Pistol Pete at that moment and decided to do it. I can't get too mad about that.

Loved listening to him. Laughed throughout the entire game while watching Jalen go off....To me he should be enjoying himself.....some of you guys are sooo stiff. I loved living in Connecticut but alot of these comments remind me of what I don't miss about it. Too uptight.

He makes the game fun especially in an early season that is not going as planned.

A toast to Bill the spaceman Walton

Yes. All the time. Said as much on Tales from the Golden Road. I'd have loved to be there to say, "yes Bill, the last time UCONN won the national championship we beat undefeated Florida twice ."
