BU cancelled before the 1998 season, kind of late in comparison to when schools would normally announce something like that, which is why we ended up playing (and beating) eventual national champion UMass twice that year. I'm pretty sure that Northeastern dropped football before BU did but not sure as to exactly when. Hofstra held on quite a few years longer, untill about fifteen years ago.
