Is this Hurley after this game?

Come on man please don’t bring Calhoun down trying to defend Hurley. Calhoun’s had 100x the class and self control Hurley does.

We’re talking about the same coach who celebrated this shot for 2 seconds before getting himself together to make sure he showed class to the losing coach.

Calhoun never came off as acting like a child.

And we can find clips of Dan Hurley doing the exact same thing

Haha fair. Very fair on this point.

I don’t remember Calhoun having the lows that Hurley has shown these past few years. That he somehow doesn’t get techs for.

I want Danny to learn how to control this for no other reason than it will be better for him when he's done with this. His legacy should end up being how the kids he coached feel about him, not some old advised comments made in the heat of the moment.

Yes.

if it's a coach, a teacher, or anyone who is expected to be a role model, yes I have.

I know it isn't purposefully, but I do like that Hurley's antics kind of take some pressure off the players. Everyone's eyes are on coach being a wackadoodle, so they aren't asking Liam why he bricked 75% of his shots.

He said swear words. Did you carry on like this when Calhoun said swear words? Do you carry on like this when you hear an adult say a swear word in your personal life?
It’s not the swear words.

I’m going to avoid what I think for a second, but the comments made by people who aren’t UConn fans about Hurley is whiny, sore loser, and acts like a crybaby.

I don’t think Calhoun ever associated with that kind of behavior.

it has nothing to do with the rest being able to handle it.
Then what are we complaining about? Did you think he was perfect or something?

coaches are supposed to be role models. Hurley's temper tantrums reflect poorly on the team and the school.
You think his former players feel corrupted? Kids feeling shy about enrolling at the school?

Bunch of pearl clutchers.

Agree with this but I actually do think it is somewhat intentional. It matches the role he plays in-game of positive reinforcement with players combined with berating the refs on missed calls. Seems like a defensive mechanism throughout to keep the players shielded in a way. Based on his own (admitted) insecurities along with the heat of the moment it leads to these viral happenings of popping off where he can take it a little too far. But you take the good with the bad with Hurley and the good far outweighs the bad. I do hate this is overshadowing a bit how well this team actually played yesterday. Executed so well, shots just didn't fall when they needed to.

Golden not only got wildly outclassed in this matchup, but he's incredibly "fortunate" that this isn't the height of the #metoo movement because right now he would be former Florida coach Todd Golden.
Thankfully we're over that nonsense.

Love JC but you are delusional and you romanticize him as some saint. Calhoun would call a timeout, run out to mid-court, and berate a player loudly with a finger in his face in front of the entire arena and nation on tv. He also went after reporters often and had arguments/feuds with them. They are well documented. He also didn't get along with the womens coach at the school(probably both their fault). He has turned around and told a fan to "shut ... up. Here is something for your reading:

Nobody cared about his “antics” (lmao) when Hurley was beating the piss out of teams for two years. They waited until he had a down year. Pathetic

Calhoun's my favorite coach of all time but the amount of revisionist history coming out of that account is crazy. It's like that poster was not around for the Calhoun era.

Seriously though, I do not give a single care about Calhoun yelling at players or media or a fan because they were distracting him coaching.

I wish Hurley would yell at players when they mess up, especially his stars who seemingly gets away with everything and have unlimited rope once he feels like they need them.

I wish Hurley would stand his ground with some media members instead of constantly folding into pretzels apologizing because he wants to be liked by them so bad.

Telling a fan to be quiet because he’s working is not the same as taunting a fan after a win.

We’re talking about a coach being strong vs a coach being whiney and acting like a child.

Calhoun was completely secure in who and what he was for good and bad to the point you had to respect it. That is not the case with Hurley.

He's the best coach in college basketball right now. There's no question about it." -Jim Boeheim on Dan Hurley

Love it. I would love to play for a coach like had our backs. Shake called out the big east refs and st. John’s. No one said boo

And Hurley was right. Baylor got hosed.
Did you watch the video of what I just posted?
