Is there any merit to this tweet about Megan Walker "close to" coming to UConn?

Kid does an ambiguous tweet, and grown-ups analyze it to distraction, which in turn encourages the kid to tweet more and even more ambiguously, which in turn drives grown-ups to greater distraction, which in turn....

Not saying she is, but there are studies claiming social media are training self absorbed, not to say narcissistic personalities.

Zorro - My mojo is not year round, it's seasonal. I'd really like to be your "year round" seer, but I just can't. Everyone needs a rest from time to time. I need some R&R over the summer. I was extremely tense and wound up during the tournament, especially with all of the other one seeds bowing out. That was a great and epic run. I'm still in the after glow.

I put the turban & cape away for the summer. Look at the size of my turban. My neck was beginning to hurt trying to keep that thing upright. I'll be shooting from the hip between now and then (October). As Mike Greenberg (Greeny) of the morning ESPN TV Mike & Mike show says every morning: I'll be "back and better than ever". I've got a decent track record so far, and I want to see if I can keep it going. I'm not always correct, but I am over the Mendoza line.

I really love the yard. I'm just come around to have some fun, and to read what's going on in the world of WCBB. In the brief time I've been here, I've come to realize that we've got some extremely knowledgeable and articulate fans on this board.

Y'all are going to drive yourself crazy if you try to find meaning in every single tweet of hers. She tweets quite a bit and most of it is meaningless, not in a bad way. Just typical teen stuff, jokes, song lyrics, retweets of compliments about her basketball skills, etc.

That article today says she is going to take her visits. ND visits are usually in September. This one's going on for a while. Sit back and relax.

I'm not a pollyanna and don't fool myself into believing that this is about anything besides basketball, but I wish the article expanded on her comment:

She is considering Texas, Notre Dame, Virginia, and Connecticut. “They all have majors that I’m interested in,” Walker said. “So that’s a plus.”

Been nice if the reporter asked her what those majors are. A missed opportunity to bring out a little of the student in the student-athlete....

The April 5 tweet is OLD info. We saw and discussed that a while back. It's encouraging, but it's not new info.

The April 26 article, though new, is based on OLD info as well. It says Megan "will visit UConn." She was there about 12 days ago. That article was either written (not published) 2+ weeks ago, or it was written more recently based on old info.

Did anyone ask Megan, "Now that you have visited UConn, will you make your other 3 visits?" We don't know. Maybe Meg is on the verge of committing, maybe she already has, or maybe she'll make all 4 visits. Maybe Meg will choose elsewhere.

We need to be patient. We do know that Meg had a great time at UConn, including with the top 3 draft picks. She has been there at least twice on her own dime. She is wearing a UConn T-shirt on her Twitter page, and she retweeted the fun video from Geno's office. She wants to play with a great PG, and we have Crystal. I think she's friends with Crystal and Lexi. Some folks think she'll wind up at UConn. Megan has NPOY and Olympic potential. Who better to help her maximize her talent than Geno, CD, et al.?

I hope we know before October, but I'm optimistic.

Note what Coach Bill et al. are saying about her: continually improving, great handle, high IQ, tough competitor, multiple-year AA potential, close to Maya Moore level. There's a consensus that she is not just the #1 player in 2017, but by a wide margin.

It's now official, Megan has narrowed her decision to 2 choices. 1. Go to UCON; 2, Don't go to UCON. So, its 50, 50.

Every time I log on to the yard, I hope to see that we got another verbal from one of our coveted recruits.
Who was the recruit last year that posted on social media to disregard any news, releases, tweets or anything regarding her or where she intends to go (or is leaning), unless it comes directly from her.
I personally disregard tweets or releases of this nature. I'm not going to get my hopes up, only to have the rug yanked out from under me.

That's what I'm doing with Megan Walker. Whoever is putting out these "teasers" is not doing her any favors, or respecting her privacy. They're trying to steal her thunder. Who is benefiting from these tweets? Surely not Megan. This is HER rodeo, not theirs. When she's ready to make an announcement, SHE"LL do so, and she won't do it through a second or third party. The announcement should come directly from her. There is a time and place for everything. She and her family should be the only ones that decide where and when.

On the hood of a car I hope.
