or are there no commits ?

Thanks,
the response has really explain are decline in news on this site or any other regarding recruiting and the program. Hurley will be a great addition but the conference is dictating recruiting like it or not. God save the football program..

There have been recruiting updates on this site every single day for months. Not sure what you are talking about. Just look at it and you see several threads. [fixed, no moths]

@CTrefugee there are no commits at the moment but we are working on several very strong recruits and have good chances with many of them. Most commitments come in the fall and winter.

Dude. Memphis may be about to poach a Top 20 recruit from Kentucky.

There are reasons for that, but that does tell you the conference isn't going to dictate recruiting by itself.

Yes, money still speaks as well ;):p

Penny and Mike Miller are an outlier to the conference thing. They have a pipeline of kids they have GREAT relationships with & both them have families that still run those AAU programs. They could have taken a job in the Ivy League and stolen those kids. The decommitment is 1000% based on penny & MM.

Those kids are not getting admitted to any Ivy league school. But aside from that over the top point, those two guys are certainly leveraging their contacts.

It will be interesting for Memphis. This is a short term benefit. They need to use it to turn things around and then recruit based on that success moving forward.

That's exactly the point. It's the coaches doing the recruiting, not the conference they are in.

Hurley, Kimani, Kenya, and Tommy all have deep northeast contacts, which they'll be able to leverage here. As direct as Hardaway/Miller? No, but still very very strong in the North East.

I agree I’d rather have our current rivals than P5. Does wonders for recruiting
