We've just gone on a run, or made a big play, and the opponent causes the time out. Every UConn fan knows it's coming. A deafening...

U-C-O-N-N UCONN! UCONN! UCONN!

It has to be demoralizing for the opponent. It definitely pumps up the crowd. Is there a better chance in college basketball? I don't think so.

Yes, because this a UConn forum and we don’t need to be objective or justify why. No doubt there’s posters here who can’t wait to point out why it’s not and we need to be more like Duke/Kansas/Kentucky with our traditions.

The only other thing I can think of is whatever words KU fans slowly sing in garbage time

But as far as in-game demoralization I can’t think of anything better than ours

It's loud, it's in unison, it is timely, it has to be one of the best

I know I've heard first hand how our opponents hate it. From

ACC fans in DC
Twerp fans in Cuse
St John's fans at MSG
PC fans (wherever they may be)
and Illi fans in Boston (in the first half of the E8 game they asked what happened to our stupid cheer. In the second half they said they hate that stupid cheer)

I'm sure everyone hates it, but I'm only citing first hand experiences

I love it

Do they do the chant at women's games?
No. The women's games have the dumbest and most annoying chant ever.

UCONN... HUSKIES
UCONN... HUSKIES
HUSKIES... UCONN
WOO

I'm not sure where this came from but most of the time they don't get it right, it's supposed to be one side shouting UCONN and the other side answering HUSKIES, but most people don't get it, it's never that loud, and is just a weak ass attempt at a chant.

Usually it's started by one fan in the entire stadium and if you are lucky, many join in quickly. I think the U...C...O...N...N.... UCONN UCONN UCONN chant is is often started by the band or the cheerleaders so there's generally a larger contingent right out the gate.

The U...C...O...N...N... chant is best to used during games, particularly after a big play and an opponent timeout.

The UCONN... HUSKIES chant is best to used when entering or leaving the arena. It's more of a greeting or acknowledgment of fans.

Just my opinion.

Probably not, but it is my favorite which is the only thing that matters.

The UConn!...Huskies! chant is fine. It works during quiet moments of the game if the band isn't playing. But I can't stand it when someone starts it as our guys are getting ready for FTs.

We chanted the Uconn Huskies/ Huskies- Uconn chant for the men during the late 90s and early 2000s. I remember after the first ring in 99 that one being the main chant on campus. It was more popular in the bars than the U-C-O-N-N chant at least

We almost solely used the Uconn Huskies/ Huskies- Uconn chant for the men during the late 90s and early 2000s. I remember after the first ring in 99 that one being the main chant on campus. It was more popular in the bars than the U-C-O-N-N chant. Maybe not at Gampel but definitely on campus.

I think it's the extra letter that does it, because Jets and Caps chants are the worst...objectively speaking of course

The Jets and UConn chant are the same exact chant. The extra letter doesn’t make a bit of difference. Spell it then say it three times.
