Lets be optimistic.

Cuse and Pitt gone. Sucks but lets move on. Pitt is irrelevant come march anyway and we all love when Cuse is eliminated early on.

Some miracle occurs where UConn remains in the Big East. Big East adds Kansas and maybe 1 other school.

Strictly from a basketball standpoint, we lose two top 15 programs and we gain a top 5 program. We lose tradition, history, and two big rivals BUT new rivalries can be born, and there is still history to be made.

Where is the Big East Championship going regardless of who we add?

The point I was trying to make is that the BET will still be around... unless I am missing something. Everyone is saying its finished, but if there is still a Big East, and we are still part of the Big East, and St. Johns is still part of the Big East... we will be participating in the Big East Tournament at MSG.

If no one else leaves, the league isnt gunna let 2 defects be the end of the tourney/league.

If someone else leaves, it will probably be us IMO and we won't have to worry about it

In that scenario it will take a few years for the real magic of the tournament to return. The rivalries and hatred for the new teams need to be built first (if they're any good).

+1

Kansas isn't coming.
Kansas State isn't coming.
Oklahoma isn't coming.
Texas isn't coming.

Central Florida and Memphis are coming.

The Big East Tournament isn't dead. I was wrong. It's far worse than that.

It's going to be made a mockery of something that was once great.

If you keep the traditional Catholic schools in the Big East, it won't be a mockery of anything. It may be a scaled down version, but it's still going to be a very good tournament.
