Is that OUR Sue Bird?

It wouldn't surprise me if she did relatively well, even though hockey is a unique sport, given the fact that she is a world class athlete.

@CL82 effective stick work is not acquired in a day. Take it from a guy who never got it. So what did they do? Stick me in goal where I prospered.

No doubt, but the balance, coordination and fast twitch muscles of an elite athlete would certainly help.
She was a very good soccer player, but you still need to skate to play hockey... speaking as someone that never got the hang of it.

My hockey was limited to playing on frozen Connecticut ponds, but I always struggled when I had to go backwards. Basically I would skate as hard as I could forward turn around, gilde and hope for the best.

Yeah, I'm not saying that we should be looking for her on the 2030 women's hockey team, I'm just saying that she's more likely to get the hang of it faster than an average person

Back in day we couldn't afford a lot of pucks so we used frozen tuna cans filled water. Can't tell you how scars I have from those damn things. They also made night hockey an adventure! Shoveling snow from the ponds was always a group effort!
