The announcers have said--and we've learned this elsewhere as well--that Lou pretty much drains everything in practice and shoot-around. So it's not bred-in mechanics, but just missed shots. A rookie baseball player needs around 500 at bats before they can judge how good he'll be. His swing hasn't changed since the minors: the competition has just improved in the Bigs and he needs to adjust. Ditto with Lou. Repetition, repetition, repetition. She's most definitely got game, and we should all chill and enjoy watching it develop.

In the last segment of this week's Geno A Show he dealt with Katie Lou. He said she is KLS material as a shooter, but right now she has this thing: make 4 in a row, miss the 5th and start (my word) overythinking/second guessing. So Geno looks at that and says to her: Hey, Lou, shoot the dang thing.

I have no idea about her being right or wrong about her BB shooting mechanics-
I stick to what I do well, insurance and fly fishing. But I will say, I had the same feeling when she went into that issue at length. I love Kara- like all of us. It was out of character for her- great post!
Well, that is the biggest 'shocker' of this post. Finding out that there are two things you do well! Love'ya Big Guy. :p

I'm not a grandmaster, but I don't see anything wrong with them.

According to the rules of chess, that light-colored rook should be resting on a dark-colored square. (So, all of the visible pieces are incorrectly placed.)

After everyone here has fixed KLS' three point shooting technique... let's take on something more challenging....Charles Barkley's golf swing.

That rook (whether it's white OR black) should be on a dark square. I think either the photo is inverted or the board is set up with ranks and files switched (indexed 90 degrees) - there is no way to set the pieces up incorrectly the way it is in the picture if the board is oriented properly. The avatar picture is actually of the "H1" or "A8" corner, where the corner square is light. But the way the board is oriented in the avatar the corner shown should be the "A1" or "H8" corner. The board is either rotated 90 degrees from its proper orientation, or the avatar photo is of the H1 or A8 corners and is inverted

I think Kara's explanation is definitely nonsense. KLS has aplenty of arc. She brings the ball up to her right shoulder and reference it from there then proceed to shoot, nothing is wrong with this form, she can develop her muscle memory to a point where she can knock it down consistently.

With all that said a sharp shooter usually and squarely looking at the ball from the beginning all the way to the time the ball leaves their hands. What this does is it helps the shooter aligning the path of the ball to the basket.
