Jim Burr slapped two ticky tack fouls on him today

seems like his rushed off the court more often than not

Some of his movements look awkward. Refs tend to call fouls on the player who looks awkward when there is contact...so I agree

He has not played that much BE games to be fully effective. Very similar to Thabeet in terms of foul proneness as a freshman. He will be much less ticky-tacky next year like Thabeet did.

He gets called for a lot of the same stuff Sullinger does on the Celtics.

I feel like its due to his inexperience and unawareness in the paint.

No doubter here! Considering how their big men were banging and pushing in the paint the fouls on Wolf were unnecessarily called!!

Totally agree. It has little to do with what Wolf is doing and a lot to do with the refs perception of players like Wolf. Giffey gets the same treatment if not worse. You would have to punch giffey in the face and maybe the refs would call a foul...but players whom the refs think are stars like bazz, all they need to do is an over exaggerated head fake and they get the foul when touched. Not a dig at bazz I actually like when he does that b/c its smart bball; its a dig at the refs for their inconsistent and bias calling.

He looks like an ostrich out there. Long arms and long legs out of sync invite foul calls.

He gets called for a lot of cheap fouls because he commits a lot cheap fouls.

Converesly he gets away with some cheap fouls (i.e. not called).

Big dudes just get in people's ways more easily

He's not exactly experienced with how to move in to legal positions better. I think if he gets the minutes he deserves this year he will learn.

The 7 foot German guy may as well have a bull's eye on his back for ref's, yes. If today's zebra's really wanted to they could have called about a total of 60 push offs and illegal screen on Pitt.

did you know? there is supposed to be no such thing as a cheap foul?

physical contact is not in and by itself a personal foul. It's supposed to be a foul only if one player gained an advantage over his opponent with the contact

--------
18) The mere fact that contact occurs does not constitute a foul. Incidental contact is contact with an opponent
which is permitted and does not constitute a foul. Contact, which occurs unintentionally in an effort by an
opponent to reach a loose ball, or contact which may result when opponents are in equally favorable positions to
perform normal defensive or offensive moves, should not be considered illegal, even though the contact may be
severe.Contact which does not hinder an opponent from participating in normal defensive or offensive
movements should be considered incidental.

There was one sequence where Boat scored on a layup while getting banged by his defender. No whistle. Then Wolf barely touched a Pitt guy. Whistle. Refs do seem to have biases ("this guy fouls a lot"), and I agree the big guy may have a bull's eye. When he makes contact, the whistle does usually sound.
