Haven’t read anything, but she and Cheli were the only two who didn’t play against Loyola. We knew Cheli was out, but Brady, no news?

That's the value of a deep roster. Little things can be rehabbed immediately so they don't become a nagging bigger thing....
The vaunted 15 player roster shrunk to 12 two games ago and is now at 13......it may never actually reach 15 during the entire season......I'm certainly glad Geno didn't start with a 10 - 11 player roster as we've seen in the past.......

I wonder if when Ice is back if Blanca will still play the four. In exhibition games, she played the three when Ice was available. It all boils down to who will be the 10th player in the rotation; Ice or Carol.

Sometimes we forget that Ice was hurt and rehabbing her entire first year at UConn. That is a significant injury that takes time to recover. And we don't realize that the mental/emotional healing can be much more difficult and possibly long term. I feel for Ice because of her past injuries, but I also see a "pressure filled" season in regards to getting time on court. The dynamic duo of KK and K9 are solid, plus Jana comes in for Serah, Blanca can come in for a multitude of players, and Allie is the heir apparent for 3pt shooter ace. That's nine players with Azzi and Sarah. Ice is maybe 10 or 11 because Caroline is more experienced and (to be honest) more valuable to Geno. The 11th player to go in-- is a sticky spot for a player who was maybe 7th or 8th last year.
The Deep Bench is an element of the game that rarely gets any positive press. We are not talking about the 6th man in. 10-11 or 12 is a different lifestyle. Some can really enjoy just being part of the team (over the last few years you old posters can think of 3 or 4 girls who were very glad to be here--playing or not. )
Anyway, I did not forsee that Ice would be part of the Deep Bench this year. Of course, we have just started the season and things can change. However, Ice will have to compete with Caroline (IMHO) for time -- and I see K9, Jana, Blanca, and Allie winning the battle to play more. I am rooting for all the players to enjoy the journey.

CharlieBBall beat me to the punch with the Bench sub info. But it also proves the point that #10 sub will be competitive--probably Ice vs Caroline.

There is also the Morgan factor. If she ever gets healthy, she will definitely have a chance to be that 10th.

I think Ice will get minutes in the games where UConn needs to have a bigger lineup up front.......Geno appreciates her solid screens and her passing acumen that are her best attributes right now....

I am willing to wait and see how the season progresses rather than try to predict what will happen with the rotation. First comes health, then Geno's trust, and then actual production in games.

For Ice - I think Geno trusts her similar to how he trusted Stokes - not looking for any particular offensive production, but keeping the offensive flow with movement and screens while providing solid defense.

The starters seem to 'get it.' Allie, K9, Jana, and Ice get it, Kelis and Blanca are learning, Caroline and Ayanna are rebuilding, Morgan is in rehab, and Gandy is in a learning curve is the way I read the roster. The actual rolls are in flux as experimentation is happening this early, and the competition will be dictating some of the substitution patterns all year.

Cheli is not due to be fully recovered until January or February, Correct? She will earn plenty of time in Big East play, but what a mountain to climb!

I watched the OSU replay this afternoon and noticed at halftime that Ice jogged back to the locker room with her teammates. That must be a good sign????
