For this team and coach? No.

In the JC era, the game right before Xmas break at the HCC was the definition of a "trap game". They almost always looked half asleep. LOL

No - this team could play their most uninspired brand of basketball and still win by 20 on raw talent

What’s the point of scheduling them? Plenty of bad teams reside within a 4 hour drive
John Gallagher and Dan Hurley are buddies and East Texas A&M's head coach played at Hartford and also was an assistant under Gallagher at Hartford. Maybe that was enough of a nudge to pick this team. Also, they play a unique style: they press and try to win the perimeter game, so I'm sure UConn wanted a tune up against this style.

The Huskies will be looking forward to Maui and the undefeated Memphis Tigers. It will be tough to concentrate on the Lions with a trip to paradise around the corner.
No. If the starters are sleep walking through the first three minutes, Hurley will sub the entire team for the second string, who would beat the brakes off of TAMC.

Duke led Wofford 51-14 at the half yesterday, then extended the lead to 64-17, so, by comparison, we may get a run for our money.

Not sure, but it’s a must win!

I'm going with the relationship angle. There's no other good reason to schedule this team.
