Really interesting. Wonder if he just concluded he'd never win a championship in CT and had hit the ceiling he could hit.
Am I misremembering, or didn't Chiney leave CT with some bad blood between her and Miller? Will be interesting to see how this unfolds...
Yes, while all indications are this parting was "friendly," this article in The Next wonders if that was because both sides realized a different take was needed to go the next mile:
"The circumstances surrounding the departure indicate a disconnect — that both sides felt it was time for a change was likely the reason it could be friendly. Miller did not depart following an unsuccessful season — few could have expected more of the Sun in 2022 than reaching the WNBA Finals, especially in the absence of point guard
Jasmine Thomas. Indeed, the expectation internally in Connecticut is to find a head coach and general manager who will continue to keep the team at the top of the success cycle, not to rebuild. And Miller, by leaving his GM job in Connecticut for a purely head coaching gig in Los Angeles, is putting additional people above him in the chain of command where he works."

As for Miller/Chiney friction, I seem to recall that, too (or do I?), but another The Next article didn't reference it at all: it just focused on the fact that Chiney considers she and Nneka a "package deal" at this point in their careers.
As noted, Miller is the Head Coach in L.A., not the GM. Will he have input on personnel? I'm pretty sure of it, but it won't be his way or the freeway, so to speak.
