I know the Is-UConn-bad-for-WCBB discussions ruffled a lot of feathers around here.
Claims that it was anti-UConn or anti-WCBB, and wouldnt happen with other sports/schools.

Well, not exactly.

There is now increasing distress in college football that it is dominated by Alabama and Clemson, and that that is leading to declining fan interest.
For all the talk of the CF playoff, it is considered largely pre-ordained that Bama, Clemson, and Ohio St will be 3 of the teams, leaving just 1 spot for everyone else.
(Alabama has made the playoff 6 of 7 years. Same for Clemson. Ohio St 4. And combined those three have held 11 of the 14 spots in the championship game, winning 6 of the 7.)

And in the recruiting rankings? Bama just landed not only the #1 class, but what is being called the greatest class ever. Ohio St 2nd. Clemson 5th.

So, yes, the concern does happen in other sports.

Guilty as charged!

The other teams should just get better Like SC and ND did.
Agree! Love what coach Spurrier would tell his Florida teams before games: “OK let’s go out there and beat ‘em as bad as we can beat ‘em. And if they don’t like it, tell ‘em to get better.”

Don't think you can stop Bama unless other teams prevent them from having top 3 Recruiting Classes annually. This year Bama signed Seven 5 Star and 16 Four star players out of their 27 commitments. The four other plays in their recruiting class were three star players. I read somewhere its the highest ranked class in history. Ohio State is having similar success in recruiting, but Bama has been getting the more rounded classes. Bama has been able to accomplish what they have, with Good but not exceptional Quarterbacks. If they ever get a Great QB, lookout.

I used to think so, but I've switched over. Yes, they get the best players, but there are no prima donna's on their roster. They bust their humps every day and are blue collar punch the clock types. Their hard work is as crucial as their class rankings to their success.

They need a better playoff system and IMO the top players will go elsewhere. Have the top 16 teams in the polls in it. It's 15 games and each playoff game is a bowl game. Who wants to watch 6-6 teams playing in a bowl game. Make them earn it!

Most schools have football teams. Alabama is a football team with a school.

As bad as Alabama is, Clemson is worse. They have 2 asst. coaches making > $2M.

a year before Saban got there, Bama went 6-7 ( 6 wins eventually vacated ). He has been a great coach at Alabama but when he leaves, anything could happen. There is no reason to penalize a team simply because they are successful. Face it, that is the worst reason to penalize a team.
