Trade-off is keeping the traditional brick and mortar gambling exclusive in exchange for sports betting being less exclusive or open the whole gambling business to competitive bid process and see who blinks first.

Honestly the last thing we need is another casino.

I’d just scrap the legislation if it means the casinos have it and the state gets a fraction of a peanut.
 
The casinos say they have exclusive rights. The lottery is pushing hard.
Huh! Interesting. I wonder what grounds they have to make that claim, since gambling on sports just became legal in places like CT.

If theyre going to withhold their slot payments let em, and like others suggested good luck with yiur roads leading in to your place.
 
Its a fight no one in state leadership wants to take on right now. Too many other bigger fish. And so - dont expect sports gambling anytime soon within state borders.
Yep. That’s how we roll in CT.
They worry about coddling possible gambling addicts over revenue. Remember Weicker tried his best to torpedo Foxwoods? Said it would spread TB and prostitution.
