....And offered reasonably priced tickets

LINK, schminck.

I don't find this surprising at all. The subregional is in South Bend, and the Irish have their hopes up once again.

Curious what the $ numbers would be - no idea what the prices were in ND or the attendance (Link?) but given that Bridgeport was double some sites, the actual money numbers might be the same.

Well - based on those numbers - if attendance was all single tickets:
Bridgeport at $41 made $187,000 and ND which I believe was $26 made $176,000. I know some mix of full session and single session tickets were sold in both locations, but if the mix was equal the results would be similar.

Duh. You forgot about the obscene $15.00 parking fee. I'll bet that the Bridgeport subregional swamps the other locations in the dollars collected from parking fees.

N.D. ticket prices on campus have always been half of UConn prices. Parking is free but no free hotdog. High prices were introduced by AD Lew Perkins at UConn. When Lew moved on to be AD at Kansas, he tried to introduce the same point system & high ticket prices. The Alumni forced him out. The parking fee's to me is a ripoff. In Bpt. the corrupt saying is, ' if you want to play, you must pay'. We had one mayor go to Fed. prison because of that!

interesting stuff. i'd rather see the sub regional held in Hartford. i think it's more central and would draw more fans from across the state. it's clear that Bridgeport/Fairfield area doesn't draw enough fans. altho maybe the XL center is too large for that type of venue. when the subregionals were held here in San Diego, it was at SDSU's facility, which seats about 9,000, not the local arena which seats 15,000...
