What I do know is there will be 10,000 plus fans in attendance for this feud! Congrats to the state of Iowa for supporting both their WCBB teams like NO OTHER STATE!
Cyclones by 8! :)

One of UConn's most painful losses..sweet 16 to ISU in the 1999 NCAA tourney.
Our roster was depleted...Bird/Walters out with injuries....Cash not near 100%...
but we were outplayed plain and simple. I wouldn't mind a bit if UConn/ISU had a home/home series.

Maybe that loss in 1999 had something to do with motivation for the 2000 season...Ring #2.
Seems like a long time ago. After that loss to ISU I remember Geno saying something along the lines of
'Svet and Shea spent the whole game chucking up threes'. Maybe a harbinger of that loss was round 2 in Gampel where we really struggled to beat Somebody U [maybe it was Xavier?]. Perhaps lucky to pull out that one prior to the ISU game.

Watched a bit before the half. Iowa lost to Washington?

Whoa, I haven't seen Stacey Dales in a long time. Didn't realize she was on the broadcast team for this game.

Are you saying Iowa looks too good to lose to Washington?

There’s no greater equalizer than the holiday tournaments.

These games aren’t played in a bubble. One day Louisville can beat Oregon, and another day they can lose to Ohio State.

Correct.

Yeah, any given day results can vary. I'm just really down on UW after their horrid showing against Hawaii.

Iowa pulling away in Q4. 62-53 4:50 left.

Tightening up at the end. 66-62 Iowa leading inside a minute. Might've just gotten another bucket as the shot clock expired, pending review. That was after an offensive rebound, so they ran a lot of clock. That was a big hoop.

I've only seen a little of this game off and on. Joens from ISU has 26 points/11 reb.

Fennelly's father died overnight, casting a bit of a pall over this game.

Iowa has now beaten Iowa State 4 consecutive years, which is somewhat surprising because iowa State was the better program until just last year.

Iowa State missed the NCAA tourney 2017-18 with a losing record (14-17)

Iowa was 24-8 in 2017-18.

So, Iowa had been the team on the steady upswing the last 3-4 years.

Iowa St was pretty good last year. They had a record of 26-9 and they lost in the second round of the NCAA’s to Missouri St.

Iowa was 29-7 last year. They were Big Ten tournament champions. They lost in the 4th round of the NCAA’s to eventual champion Baylor.

Both teams had a prominent senior who won national positional awards.
