Wow. I know it's byu, but wow. Machado is the real deal. Watch out Marquette.

Three minutes left in the first half, Iona has 55 points.

BYU playing the Jimmer defense but without Jimmer to keep them in it.

Iona has taken the air out the ball and they might mess around and lose this game

BYU missed the memo that they were supposed to wait for the last 5 minutes to come back.

Just turned the game on. What was Iona's biggest lead?

.-.
Tim Cluess was bound to screw this up. It's his nature. Dude blew the MAAC and CIT finals last year, topped his MAAC Tournament failure this year, gets a gift, and says we ain't seen nothin yet.

This Hartsock guy can't miss. Which of course means he will miss the game winner but he is deadly from that mid range jumper

.-.
During the first half, I thought I needed to change my bracket. I don't think I will change it now. What a lousy 2nd half by Iona.

Jeez Iona shat the bed. Missed alley-opps, layups, every outside shot they took, you name it.

55 points in the first 16 minutes, 17 in the last 24.... that is ridiculously insane!!!!! i thought they were gonna score 120 and all of a sudden they just plain sucked.... WOW

Well coached team I guess..........:)..........the way he was marketing his team for the dance he would've looked like a stud if they kept playing like that instead it's the "coach" who blew a 25 point lead somehow.........how'd that work out for ya Tim?

I know that neither Iona or BYU had air-tight cases for making the field this year, but there is no way that game last night should have been for a 14 seed.

Marquette really got screwed. They have a great year and earn a 3 seed and they're rewarded with 1) having to prepare for 2 teams since they wouldn't know their opponent until Tuesday night and 2) having to play an at-large team, with a tournament game already under their belt, in their first game.

Agreed. It's all because BYU refuses to play on Sunday's. Ever. No matter what. I understand the NCAAs being accommodating, but sometimes it can really screw people over. I was rooting against them for that very reason (that they sort of screwed Marquette over).

Remember in 2003 when, if they beat us and Stanford, they would have forced the NCAA to change their regions (granted, the NCAA knows BYU's policy)?

The sad thing about the comeback was that Iona knew it was going to happen. They've seen it happen twice before. What a difference in halves.

Coach Clueless should never have opened his big mouth. Now he gets the ignominy of being the coach to blow a 24-point lead in this prime-time game. Epic choke all around.

The BYU policy. What would happen if their women's team qualified for the Final Four? The semifinals are played on Sunday?

Dude, it's not BYU policy. It's the Church of JC of Latter Day Saints. This ain't the NFL or NBA. Mormon pro athletes are professionals. Just like Mormon doctors that work on Sundays.

I wondered why that was 14/14 game. Both teams looked pretty good, although you get a 25 point lead, you got to close that out.

Considering that BYU is the university of the Church of Latter Day Saints, wouldn't that make it BYU's policy too? They are a church-run university and the church restricts athletics on Sundays.

Francesa will have a field day with this loss.

Not as bad as I expected but then again Francesa seems to be pretty cool with Cluess so I think he is taking it a little easy. On another note, Francesa needs to take some kind of antacid before he gets on air, dude sounds like he is about to burp or is congested about half the time he is on the mic.

You might have witnessed the biggest collapse in the history of the modern game. One thing that happened was BYU stopped turning the ball over. Boy was it fun to watch while it lasted - Iona in the open court. They were like top fuel dragster going down the court and their passing was flawless. It's like somebody put a hex on them and suddenly it all stopped. Twilight Zone bizarre. I still can't believe it.
