Let me first state that I don't agree with everything that Northam says, especially when he kinda bashed UConn's #1 seed vs all the teams in the SEC having to play against each other, however that's not why we're here.

Many players are now considered hybrid or position less, opposed to true SG, SF, PF, C. So what say you with his suggestion that the Hall of Fame and WBCA should reevaluate these awards? This was a tweet from 2023, and it's still holds water today.

Is Sarah Strong a SG? SF? PF? What happens when she also plays PG and C? Fill in the name with a multitude of players today ...

I like the concept, with a few caveats.

I like facilitator better than creator, whether that is facilitating your own or teammates offense or defense.

The best power forwards were both great scorers and rebounders. Some highly acclaimed were mainly rebounders, like Rodman. Also, the move to stretch four means, by definition, scoring outside as well. This is a tricky one. Maybe just leave it as forward? Best post player?

I would change best rim protector to best post defender. Rim protection calls to mind blocks, even though it means defending.

I think those are more confusing than the current designations.

Where does Strong fit? I would characterize her as neither perimeter nor interior scorer.
Blakes? Paige? Hidalgo?

I think the designations are fine as they are. Yes, there are many more players now who are multi-functional but everyone knows KK is for the PG slot, Azzi the shooting guard, Serah the Post, and Sarah the Forward, etc….
