Interesting piece on recruiting

Nice article. But some coaches will not subscribe to the non-babysitting approach and thus lose out to coaches that do! Tough to take a stand alone, despite the good arguments that Koty presents.

they said the HEAD COACH has to attend all those games and event. Get real. Delegation and initial contact by Assistant and Associates is productive and primary--the Head coach has to see the kids play some games. And do the home visit.
With coaches needing to be at multiple event for the College, for donors, for his players, and the AAU, home visits, phone visits, etc
do you really think a Head coach can be torn so many ways?
Probably in lower tier Div 1 (like JMU) or Div 2 schools they have the time. I'm thinking of Geno and his associate and Assistants.
A lot of Geno's pickups were initially seen by Shea, Marisa--and some follow up by them--once they said this is a UConn type kid--Geno went to see.

Good article. Hope some coaches and recruits follow it. But....
