Interesting games 01/04/18

ND is just playing never give up basketball leading Miami by 5 with 6 mins left in the 4th. I'm rooting for these ladies hard for the rest of the year.

I'm watching Auburn/Tenn, it's the 4th, 8"14 left with Auburn up 47-46 and both teams look gassed. And Russell still can't shoot layups, run the floor or show good footwork inside.

I’m watching Kentucky vs A&M. Pretty good game. A&M up by 5 with about 5 mins left

Duke has a chance to win or tie this game. Down 3 and with the ball with 0:42 to play.

No Greenwell for Duke.. this is gonna get ugly.. guess its time to get bundled up and head out to go to the grocery store and maybe the liquor store
I feel for you.

thanks for that update. I was curious how the freshman backcourt would do against the relentless Auburn pressure. Auburn reminds me a bit of Miami in that they have some athletic guards who defend 90 feet.
I will leave you for the updates as I am not interested in watching unless they lose :)
You and I think the same regarding your last sentence. Then it is most enjoyable watching them.

LSU - Missouri have a good game late in 4th.

Sophomore point guard Tiana Mangakahia, the national leader in assists, drops 44 points and 8 dimes in Syracuse's win over Georgia Tech:

She was 20 of 21 from the free throw line. Very EDD-like.

A huge win for LSU, even if it was without Sophie Cunningham in the game.

MS State up 13 in 3rd, but lazy getting back on defense. Very gifted offensively, but if this is the quality of a FF team it is not too intimidating.

Yes I don't think anyone better overlook LSU.

LSU led from the 2nd quarter on but almost gave it away in the end. Up by 4 points, Raigyne Louis committed a dumb foul with 8 seconds left, which allowed Mizzou to cut the lead to 2. Then Louis missed 2 free throws with 0:07 left, giving Mizzou the chance to tie or win. But the Missouri player who rebounded the miss threw the outlet pass out of bounds to kill the rally and effectively end the game.

I didn't see the game. It was close and could have went either way. Still a good win for LSU.

UVA is coming alive... tied with ND and Lville for 1st place... Duke is down in the basement with Pittsburgh and Clemson.

Huh? Did I miss something? :)

The correct answer... NBA Prime Time Head bang

Haha with those stupid ads.

The one I'm really sick of is Jon Gruden with his fluffy faux-macho sound bites promoting the Wild Card games.

After a relatively slow start, Mississippi State absolutely explodes with a 62-point second half to beat Arkansas 111-69.

When was the last time a Miss State team scored over 100 in an SEC game?

Arkansas is much improved and I think it's safe to say Neighbors has the program moving in the right direction. Good second half by Miss State, their pressure eventually wore Arkansas down.

Arkansas looked dreadful against Arizona State. They must have flipped a switch during Christmas break because they gave Miss State all they could handle for the first 10-15 minutes.

I didn't see the game. It was close and could have went either way. Still a good win for LSU.

It took Mizzou the better part of two quarters to figure out how to play without Cunningham. They got down by 15 and couldn't quite get it all back. Not much doubt they would have won the game had Sophie played. It's a loss that could hurt them in the SEC standings down the road.

Kudos to LSU. They have only one senior on the team, and a lot of raw talent. They could be very good by the end of the season.

With Cuuningham on the floor and the team hitting threes, Mizzou can play with almost anyone below the top seven teams (of course three of those are in their conference!). But their margin of error is very thin, and very athletic teams that can stay disciplined can overpower them. SC, Miss St. and Tennessee are the class in the SEC. Mizzou is in the next group with A&M, Kentucky, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama and now probably LSU, and they'll be fighting to earn at least a .500 record in conference and the NCAA Tourney bid that will bring. It looks like Arkansas, Ole Miss, Florida and a surprisingly weak Vanderbilt will bring up the rear.
