"I really think there is more parity in women's basketball than I have ever seen before," said DePaul coach Doug Bruno. "Connecticut is in a class by themselves, but there's going to be three other teams going to Indianapolis with them for the Final Four. Tonight was a chance for our players to prove we can be one of those three teams that fights its way to Indy."

Judging from their performance the other night that is very likely to be a reality. Would not be surprisrd if they go undefeated in conference play.

I think it is a valid point - certainly at this early stage of the year the only team that it would be truly shocking not to see in the FF is Uconn. The other 'favorites' all have some questions and could quite possibly be eliminated in a regional. And there are 15+ teams that would not be complete surprises. ND was the only other team I though was a near certainty, but with their injuries ... SC and Baylor probably have the best 'odds' at this point.

A 14 point loss to Baylor and 16 point loss to UCONN is nothing to be ashamed of. Having said that, he will need to show that his team can beat the likes of ND or SC - the other 2 teams most likely to make the FF at this time along with UCONN. He gets his shot at ND on Dec 9, who will likely be without Turner, and possibly Reimer.

My thinking too. Not sure who the 4th might be though. Probably somebody a little under the radar.

Doug summed it up pretty well. If there were no Uconn, it would be a real dogfight for the national title. I just hope that every contender has no injuries when Tournament time rolls around. I would look forward more expectantly if ND had its full squad for tomorrow's game.

I agree with Doug. We've seen many of the teams ranked 2-25 lose or win by single digits. Then there's the 400-pound gorilla in the room who wins a "close" game by 16 and others by 40+.

Depaul has been snakebit these last few years... knock wood, I say, and see you in Indy!

I'd love to see that.

Doug is correct. Outside of UCONN, its wide openfor the final 4.

SC will probably be there as will Baylor. I would have list ND first but without a healthy Turner and Reimer I don't see them getting there. Tennessee - no way. Team is in turmoil. Texas - maybe.

It will be interesting to say the least.

Maybe we should get a bye in the NC to the cahmpionship game. Let's see how they fight it out before trying UConn.

DePaul is capable of bringing that high-pressure D against anyone. After rewatching the game a few times, in order to win out to March, they have to be able to penetrate more consistently/effectively than they did against us, because they are not going to be able to successfully hit threes from the parking lot the way they did the other night.

I think Texas will be in the Final Four. Ariel Atkins did not play vs Tenn. they are deep. They have heart. They have a lot of talent. They have Big's. By March I think they will be one of the team's most won't want to face- but I've been wrong before.
And if De Paul can play with that intensity day in and day out- which as we know is not easy. they have proven how tough they can be. Would love to see them go far.
