Bottom line: We need to win more games and more fans need to attend games.

Basically. UC didn't do much that we didn't. They tried to leverage Urban Meyer and he essentially rejected them, we did the same with Bill Clinton. I'm sure the ACC didn't seriously consider the possibility that UC had a shot at going to the Big 12, where they seem to have thought that it was possible UL would be snatched up, hence their invite.

OK I got page restricted, can anyone give a short idea of what was written?

Mike DeCourcey of the Sporting News has been carrying Cincy's water publicly, and breaking stories on their realignment.

Pat Forde has been doing the same for Louisville.

Where is that reporting for UConn? Nothing but a Paul Doyle story that talked to a few non connected parties? Really?

That's all you've got, Horde? Are you all that clueless, that non connected, that disinterested?

UC tried to enlist Ohio State University football coach Urban Meyer, whose sister works at UC. Urban used to coach at Notre Dame, which has joined the ACC for sports other than football.
But Meyer eventually backed away from that request.

The campaign included Ono’s phone calls and letters to every ACC president, arguing that UC fits into the ACC in academics, research funding and financial backing.

UC’s faculty athletics representative, Fritz Russ, reached out to counterparts at ACC schools.
Ono sent every ACC president a brochure touting the “upward trajectory of the University of Cincinnati’s athletic and academic programs” and listing how UC would rank in the ACC in enrollment, endowments, research funding and other measures. The listing underscored how UC would be a good fit in the conference.

Ono’s office tried to arrange visits for ACC presidents, and consulted with a Washington, D.C., lobbying firm on how to approach those leaders. But the visits did not happen.

Just curious - Seems people are not happy just knowing that UConn did all of the same (which has been reported as happening). I guess it's a trust but verify scenerio but who outside a seeming majority of the 3k on this board are losing sleep over it.

Is the problem the lack of Woodward/Bernstein investigative reporting w/ exact details and FOI'd phone and travel records that people need to wrap their heads around this?

We absolutely suck in this area. Not only was not getting invited a kick in the nuts, but absolutely nobody in the public sphere advocated or argued in our favor. UConn got beat up for a week and some change and nobody was out theire fighting or influencing in the media.

We just weren't ready.

I wish some CT sportswriter would get us some info on what's really going on with UCONN with the ACC and the B1G.

We already have that info. UConn is monitoring the situation.

UConn is monitoring the situation.
Compared with flat lining the previous several years, current monitoring almost appears proactive. Not sufficiently aggressive perhaps, but possibly not entirely in the prior brain dead coma.
