Ease up? You looked up Chen's career FG percent when I pointed out her 3 pt shooting deficiency and that 1st year KK is already better than 4th year Chen. We know nothing of 2nd year KK or 5th year Chen. We can use history as a barometer and see that all players (including Chen) have jumps in their percentages in their sophomore year and then flatten out which should put KK well ahead of Kaitlin. To me, Chen has already peaked, and we have better opportunity with KK, hence me wanting to see KK tonight vs. seeing Chen. Chen is a nice second unit scoring option but not a primary ball distributor. Everything in her stats state this but yet this forum wants to glean 1 plus 1 equaling 7 which is simply not logical. This is not Lou Lopez Senechal who was already an elite shooter when she arrived. Heck, even the other Big East coaches didn't vote Chen onto the 1st team pre-season conference team, yet this forum has delusions of grandeur that Chen is a potential All-American and a budding WNBA player. It is my view she's neither. To make into the WNBA, you need to be elite at something-scoring, assists, steals, rebounds, lock down defender and Chen is none of those. Again, she's a fine player and has a role to play on this team but it is with the second unit. If we really have to rely on Kaitlin as our point guard, that means either Paige is hurt or has to play in the front court again meaning one of our bigs has disappointed. Either way, that will not lead to the 12th championship. I know this is not a popular stance and that this forum frowns upon any contrasting views of unfettered success, but it is still my opinion that I am allowed to have and is supported by the rankings and statistics of the players. I like Kaitlin Chen and want to see her be a successful Husky, I just am not myopic to the situation.
