In the spring as the NCAA closed I was a total Husky fan mope. It's like the Big East and NCAA Tourneys were a total blank as summer came. So over the last two weeks I have watched all the games. Last one today. I have to say I think this run by our wounded warriors was the most gritty, tough, heroic run our heroines have ever made. I was out to lunch in real time, but now I'm just busting with pride to call them my team. Just had to say it.

I couldn't be prouder of the way this team played all last season wondering "who next?". It is a testament to their inner strength and fortitude - and just darn grit. Like RockyMTblue2 I also watched the games again - more than a couple of times - and have always come away with the feeling no question that this was a championship team. They maybe didn't reach the pinnacle but to me and thousands of other UConn WBB fans they were - and are - truly champions.

And we were so close to getting to the national championship game. I think we would've lost, but that would've been an even more awesome achievement.

I agree with you, though, I was very proud of the team. Although we have personnel changes, I think that may bode well for this season.

(We are, of course, still doomed.)

Yes, if we maintain a morbid fatalism we cannot be disappointed! Seriously, if everything clicks this team may make us all oh so happy.
