Trying to find the clip from The League where they describe stadium security but no luck. Ruxin says something along the lines of "it's either a tiny black guy in a huge yellow shirt or a huge white guy in a tiny lawn chair." It's perfect. Doing the pass in front of me and a buddy standing on the concours behind the students was a white guy with a pony tail ~130 lbs and ~300 lbs black woman.

This isn't that, but it's still pretty funny.

Big Red pre-game was pretty cool. Hopefully there's more people in the seats next time.

Alright here goes. I thought it was lame. Big Red "works" at a BBall game when the crowd needs to be revved. Don't trot him out there before football games. Most of the folks in my area didn't know who he was. Several wondered why they pulled this guy off the street. "At least give him some cool looking UConn gear to wear."
I wasn't impressed and hope he was a one game wonder.
Now go ahead and let me have it.

I thought they were going to put him on the big board and play him as a prompt for the crowd.

I tend to agree. He's a legend - rather see a canned Big Red football focused 10 second video on the video board when needed.

I'd also like a BlueWhiteKid nod/prompt as well.

When they introduced Big Red the guy next to me said "Who?". I had to explain it to him. Big Red needs to be cheering at a critical score or critical stop. Won't be easy to do at a football game.

Really grateful no one is going to listen to the guy who wants more classic rock and less music that people these days actually enjoy. I'm sure the players and student section can really relate to Guns 'n Roses

You are 100% right. Not a football thing at all - unless you want to let him lead after we score.

Wow - a UCONN FB fan that has never been to a UCONN BB game? Like a unicorn.

Spirit in the Sky is great. PP has the 8-track in his Buick.

Overall the tweaks to the gameday experience were an improvement. Seemed like less music overwhelming you after every single game stop (but maybe that's just me). Hearing the band miked up was a nice touch (and the crowd loved the fire drumsticks). And I agree that although all the needed game stats are displayed on the jumbotron, they could stand to be more visible. Good job though.

Still need more band.

Whatever music they play they can turn the volume down 2 notches so that you can talk to fans in your area without having to yell and it would still be loud. Went to a Patriots game years ago when Peyton was still a Colt and thought the ear splitting music level was absurd. Maybe I am outside the herd on this one I don't get how that level of sound helps the game experience.

The
I noted definite improvement in the Gameday experience. Don't forget, at least some of the music has to appeal to the students who BTW did a great job Thursday night. While I love my classic rock - and it needs to continue to be in the mix - its only link to the student body is that most of them were conceived to it.
the students were awesome. We need the rest of the fans to step up like the kids did. The band was amazing in every aspect. Those kids deserve our support.

It fell flat because there was <20k people there. If the joint was full it would have been more effective. I liked it as a nod to our bball culture. I'm sure the intention is to disfragment the fanbase which is surely needed.

If Big Red wants to do it they should put him on the screen after scores instead of just the cheerleaders. And find some other times that make sense to put him on the screen too. Like the Jets do the j-e-t-s chant right before and during kickoffs And they put fireman ed on every screen in the building at that time.

The students were awesome. Kudos to our new AD for making sure they have a safe way to get to and from East Hartford. This is college football after all. It should be about the kids.

So you just recommended that they put on a fat red head guy instead of 18-21 year old girls in tight short skirts?

I suggest they never listen to you or do anything the freaking Jets do.

Not sure how serious your post was but I said instead of just the cheerleaders, they can still be out there with the cardboard letters.

And the Jets chant definitely comes off better than any chant UConn does at football games so they should listen.

Your ideas suck. But you are a Jets fan, so it's too be expected.

So more classic rock and lower the volume...........

Great ideas, if it was 1954. Some of you must work for MLB because you have the 50 - 65 year old demo nailed!! I always say, if you want to grow a fanbase, you gotta start with retirees and the soon to be retired. Too hell with the current Billboard Top 100. We need more music that originally aired on the Ed Sulivan Show. Hopefully we can find a Lawrence Welk cover band for the Virginia game. Dare to dream.

The stadium absolutely can use a lot more U!!!...C!!!...O!!!...N!!!...N!!! UCONN!!! UCONN!!! UCONN!!!

Any fan annoyed by this very idea needs to be taken to the field and clubbed.

It just gets the blood going.
