The stuff about Levy and Vechery at the OG spots seems to jibe with what Diaco said on the radio yesterday. Sounds like they are excited about that being the new offensive front. To paraphrase what Diaco said yesterday on the radio: "The OLine is starting to create creases for the running backs. Our defense was great last year and they are better this year, but I'm still seeing the offensive line creating creases..."

^^^ Note that this was a paraphrase, and that Coach Diaco does not tend to use my patented "..."... ;)

Levy at guard is a new development, i think. We all thought it might be best for him, but it seems to be confirmed now.

This means the staff is really big on Peart. These are both great signs. As is the fact that Levy can't crack the starting lineup at OG yet with Rutherford and Hopkins having a hold on them.

Exciting stuff indeed

Levy moving to guard was speculated during last season. Coaches confirmed wanting Peart at tackle before spring practice.

Levy has bounced between mentoring Peart and playing guard all spring.

Man, I just have no idea what to think of the o-line. I feel good about C and relatively good about the tackles. Guards are a crapshoot, but at least they're all experienced (even if not necessarily at that position). We have more depth this time around and I think the TE's will be bigger and badder. I feel like this line has a really wide range for potential - they could be the same as last year, or things could click and they could (gulp) be one of the best units in the AAC.

I'm actually comfortable with the guards. Let's problem was always open space. Put him at guard and he becomes much more effective. I liked what I saw from Vechery and Rutherford last year. I think many of Vechery's f-ups last year had to do with the guards on either side of him.
Plus, I think all three have the skill to pull and get to the hole before the defender. Samra was woefully slow and that really limited the inside running game.

Hoping for some good BY reports on the spring game; I have to guess the fact that it's been such a quiet spring camp (or is that just my imagination?) is a good thing but after the game this weekend it's going to go dark again for another four months... I've got a football jones, so baby woo-oo-oo.

An average line makes this a 7-8 win team. I am crossing my fingers
