Imagine you could reverse the result of any UConn game...

Consider this scenario:

Imagine you are approached by a great entity. It could be God, G_d, Allah (yes, I know, all the same deity), Vishnu, or some shapeless/formless force behind the universe...you know, whatever you believe. Upon approaching you, S/He says, "[insert your name here], I've got great news and bad news."

"OK," you respond tentatively, "what's the great news?"

"Well," S/He says, "the great news is that you can reverse the outcome of any past UConn WBB game. Any game that was a loss becomes a win...or vice versa, I suppose, but you won't choose that a win becomes a loss. I know you won't because I'm omniscient."

"That is great news," you say with delight. "So, tell me the bad news."

"The bad news is this: UConn will NOT win a national championship in 2014-15. Reversing the outcome of a prior game will create a butterfly effect. Anything can happen in a six-game, single-elimination tournament, and anything will happen this time. So your reversal comes with a price."

"What if I respectfully decline and take my chances that UConn wins it all in 2015? That seems fair, right?"

"That is fair. And yet, you must choose. The cosmos are restless!"

"OK, can I at least have a moment to think about it?"

"You may, but hurry up- I'm working here!"

There you have it. You can reverse the outcome/result of any past game, but at the dear price of next season.

Given that, what game would you choose? I can think of several, but I'll wait before weighing in...

Alex, you have a way of opening some very interesting topics that keep everyone stimulated during this time of little or no women's basketball news. Very appreciative that you do this because there are many Yarder's, myself included who are craving new and interesting topics of discussion. I'll have to peruse through some replies before I decide which game might be my favorite to reverse the outcome but I see where the Notre Dame semi-final loss in 2001 had been mentioned. It just occurred to me that had it been overturned, Diana would have been a four time champion. That would have been unbelievable. As it is, Breanna might be the first four time winner if they can put together two more championship seasons, which isn't totally unrealistic. Thanks again for a great topic.

I'd take the reversal of the 2001 semifinal loss to ND, because to do that Svet & Shea would not have gotten hurt, DT would have won 4 NC's, Muffett would not have an NCAA title, UCONN would have won in the Finals vs Purdue to make it 5 in a row, and Svet would have not been on crutches when her parents came to senior night from Russia!
And even without DIVINE intervention, UCONN WILL win the 2015 NCAA Championship, so I'll have my cake AND eat it too!
