... It's not just the obvious thing that we're 10-1, of course we're all happy for that. It's of course that and three other things...

1) Stephon Castle - I watched the end of the Spurs/Thunder last night. What a great game! I'm such a Castle fan. The guy comes to UConn so highly touted and was fully willing to play within the system and not need to be the star. You just don't see that these days. I was so thankful for that, and so impressed by it . Wins NBA ROY, and is on a team that should contend for years to come. So happy for him.

2) Cam Spencer - 20 points in 27 minutes on 100% shooting? Crazy. When he came to UConn I thought okay, guy's going to be a great shooter. He was so much more! Whenever he had the ball, I was confident he was going to do something good with it. The ultimate winner! So happy for him!

3) Alex Karaban - No need to mention what he's done for UConn. Seems like such a great kid. He had his struggles last year, and seemed to be feeling the weight of things. Now, this year, he seems to be confident and happy, and doing all the winning things he does best.

Mullins is just scratching the surface... I'm a fan who will come in here and criticize people and say what I feel. I feel it's just a happy time to be a UConn fan for so many different reasons.

I’m happy too but I’d be a little happier if Reed or Mullins had played against Zona and we were the undefeated #1 team until our first BE loss, whenever that happens

I'm looking at it a bit differently. I happen to prefer that our first loss was a very close game against a highly ranked team while we were missing two extremely important players.

Does not matter if they take care of business and secure 1 seed

After winning the first of our championships I told my ex wife that March 29, 1999 was the third happiest day of my life after the days that our 2 children were born. She replied what about our wedding day? I honestly told her not even close. No wonder she’s my ex wife. She never did get it.

I’m happy you’re happy.🤣. Truth be told, we’ve gotten used to a lot of amazing things over the years. It never gets old! I just went to the garden for the Florida game and was completely annoyed by the other team‘s fans. Yet, we won! It never gets old. I’m thankful we have such a tremendous team to support.

Too much happy going on around here, it's plausible a few heads might explode ☺️

I mean we can't shoot
Our guards are a problem
We can't guard a chair, we let players blow by us
We foul too often
Our coach is too emotional
And our fan base is a bunch of casual fans, we arrive late and leave early
Am I missing anything?

As for me, I see no problems, I too am very happy, Pollyanna99 here, although I think referees like James Breeding suck

They have the 8th best defensive efficiency rating in the country. The "can't guard a chair" thing is over.

We are definitely a lucky fanbase and after those unfortunate years in the AAC you will never hear me complain about the Big East. Being that we have no men’s pro sport teams in our lovely state UConn basketball has always been near and dear to my heart. I don’t even like Hockey but going to see the Whalers play back in the day was always a treat. Now we are spoiled with the best coaching and player development staff in the country. I do feel lucky and thankful for the UConn basketball program.

For me, Smith has been a sigh of relief after not having a consistent floor general last year.

10 Assists per Game between him and Demary is a great sign for sustainability. We didn’t have that last year with Diarra as the lone general, albeit playing hurt.

Very happy here as well but this team, getting number 7# over 26 years, for some reason I feel some need/want/tension with.

I mean in this era, 3 out of 4 years would be absolutely incredible and starts to separate UCONN from UNC, KY, Duke in my mind

Happy is good. Any chance we could have an alpha male on this team? A guy like El Amin who jumps onto tables after wins? A guy like AJ who plays above the rim and then gets T’d up for enjoying it? A guy like Cam who riles up the away crowds?

Who could that be on this team? I was hoping Demary could play with a bit more passion, but that might not happen. Alex is Alex. Any thoughts?

Yes not the worst loss. I only care about the end of the season rankings. Target on back as #1 we can take it but I have no issues being 10-1, maybe even prefer it as the team now knows what it’s like to lose - learning moment, versus having that some much later.
