Mad as in angry, agitated, unhappy, or mad as insane, crazy, mentally unbalanced? Or both? Doesn't the latter apply to most (all) of the posters here? As the psychiatrist says the dichotomy is not - nuts, or not nuts, but rather is what is the level of mental instability and how does it manifest itself?

I'm envious of you. I'm sort of enervated by the whole thing.

I've been shaking my head for about three + years (since right before the Purdue Sweet Sixteen game).

There is a grin on my face from time to time when I think about last year's championship, but am fairly devoid of any strong feelings right now. Maybe it's because of last year, or maybe it's just because the past 3 years have been crazy.

But the pain and madness will rush in once you see that our team is better than 90% of the teams that will go on to play in the post season while we sit, watch, or maybe don't watch, and hope for 2013/14. Ugh!

As BL pointed out earlier in a different thread, this is not the death penalty. If we (as a basketball program) are close to what most of our fan base wants to claim we are, we will have no problem recovering from this.

While the above situation (pundits questioning whether the tournament winner would have won if we were eligible) is exactly what I want, I don't think the NCAA would view that as anything but a victory. What they don't want to see is us having a season that would not give us a postseason bid even if we were eligible.

Banning us in what ended up as a bad season won't be (in their eyes) punishment at all. Robbing us of a shot at a title when we had a legitimate chance to win however would be something they would view as a perfect punishment.
