Many of us are short-sided right now.

if we play like today, I totally agree with you.. this was a different team today, regardlesss of anyone's issues with shot selections, defense, etc...

they played with heart and were down 2 with 4 minutes left to arguably the best team in the country on the ROAD in a place that is really difficult to play at....

they would have won this game at home and they'll get their chance to show that very shortly.... let's hope they turned the corner in terms of their heart and passion on the court because they are dangerous with boat and bazz playing the way they did today (and AD in the second half....)

I posted on the other board 5 mins in it felt like a rout and was unfortunately right score wise. They are a lousy offensive team in general and can't close out games.

If they play with the effort they played with today, they will minimally go 4-2. I just look at the schedule before you posted, and nearly posted the same thing. Today was a step forward.

Keep AO out of foul trouble.
Keep AD healthy and dunking.
Keep SN looking for the pass.

Get RS to not make bonehead plays
Get SN to keep his hands up on the perimeter
Get JL to be more demanding.

That's all they need for a run to end the year. If they are 11-7 or 10-8, I'll feel good going into NYC.

I called it after Louisville. I said they will lose to Cuse, then go on the run. Hopefully we're both right.

I would never guarantee anything with this team. I expected a blow-out loss today and they were instead very competitive until giving up at the end and still getting blown out, though not by the 30+ I was expecting. There are no easy teams in the BE and we have played down to the competition. I hope you are right but we cannot take anyone lightly the rest of the way. I really want them to get to 20 wins before the BE tourney to show the selection committee that they are playing well late. Does anyone know if UCONN has ever had a worse stretch than the current one in the JC era, excluding the first couple of years?

2010 was horrible....that team gave up. the st. john's BET game was probably one of the 5 worst in the JC era

I agree with willie that we played well today and actually this game was not a rout like the final score indicated. We were right there and we had a good chance to win if Andre didn't hurt his ankle and if our guys like Lamb start getting more confidence and hitting the open 3's. This game should give Andre and our team confidence that we have the potential to be a final four contender as I believe we are better than Syracuse if we play to our potential. Our next 6 games are all winnable games including our home game against Syracuse. There is no reason why we cant go at least 5-1 over next 6 games.
