I'm bored

I think training and health will be insane using AI. I have a Whoop band and it's really life changing even for a short old fat guy. I can't imagine how the data could be used for a high performance athlete.

Are you telling me the Whoop band would be life changing for a taller old fat guy as well?

It is more than a step counter. It shows you the impact of everything you do good and bad. Like how your body operates on a couple less hours of sleep. Or a stretch with low activity. And it has an AI coach that gives you recaps on your day and what you did well or need to do tomorrow.

I now sleep through the night from 10 pm to 6 am and don’t wake up once and have a completely different level of energy and brain clarity. It’s pretty cool.

AI's biggest immediate impact is likely to be on the sports betting side, where it will be used to detect "subtly abnormal" performances by both players and officials. In various ways, it could be used to ensure the "integrity" of the game, as long as that's what the game really wants.

Sounds great. Something else to criticize and nag me about my bad habits.

That feature is no longer supported. I'm looking for an alternative.
Which, ironically enough, is exactly the response that AI would give if I asked that question.

How do you think he came up with the idea?

Judging by what I see from AI so far, it will probably recommend square basketballs.

To me, the greatest danger of AI is less an uprising of the machines and more so the social impact of it. Just like the calculator helped wipe out the ability of people to do math in their heads, AI has the potential to eliminate the ability to problem solve and think logically.

If you've ever seen a cashier look up at you puzzled when you point out that the numbers on the cash register are obviously wrong, think about how challenging it will be to get people to recognize AI hallucinations or logical fallacies.

I tried using it and all I got for a daily summary was "Less time reading the BY will improve every aspect of your quality of life". So, I deleted it.

Occasionally think if we collectively took the time that we spent debating the merits of things like " double bigs" and turned toward something productive, with the world be a better place? Not for us mind you but for everyone else.

Short term, yes. Long term, there will be some kind of reckoning when AIs become way smarter than us, truly understand and can mimic human feelings and emotions, and become genuinely sentient. We're nowhere near there. (And they're not anywhere close to being able to do my job.)

I've read way too many science fiction books. It doesn't always go badly, but it usually does.
