I'm bored

I tried using it and all I got for a daily summary was "Less time reading the BY will improve every aspect of your quality of life". So, I deleted it.
Occasionally think if we collectively took the time that we spent debating the merits of things like " double bigs" and turned toward something productive, with the world be a better place? Not for us mind you but for everyone else.

To me, the greatest danger of AI is less an uprising of the machines and more so the social impact of it. Just like the calculator helped wipe out the ability of people to do math in their heads, AI has the potential to eliminate the ability to problem solve and think logically.

If you've ever seen a cashier look up at you puzzled when you point out that the numbers on the cash register are obviously wrong, think about how challenging it will be to get people to recognize AI hallucinations or logical fallacies.

Short term, yes. Long term, there will be some kind of reckoning when AIs become way smarter than us, truly understand and can mimic human feelings and emotions, and become genuinely sentient. We're nowhere near there. (And they're not anywhere close to being able to do my job.)

I've read way too many science fiction books. It doesn't always go badly, but it usually does.
