If you want to be a UConn legend, you have to do things like leading your young team into the Final Four when the rest of your team plays okay, but not great. Paige did that tonight. No assists, even though she is usually a pass first player, which means she knew she had to score... 28 pts...many big shots... Her legend grows...lets hope it continues in the Final Four.

I do not think Didi gave Paige that much trouble but Carrington was really aggressive attacking Paige's dribble. She is not used to that kind of defense and Paige (unfortunately ) does not have a good bubble butt to keep defenders off.

As pictures in the post game showed, Carrington had success because she spent a lot of time grabbing and holding Paige (most of which were not called). Richards', I think, reputation as a top defender is well-deserved. If only she had any kind of consistent perimeter offensive game.

Carrington was over aggressive and a bit rude to Paige already. She should have fouled out easily.

Those missed free throws may make you think that she didn`t perform well down the stretch.

She scored 9 of our 16 fourth quarter points.

Including the layup on a feed from Edwards for our 67th and 68th points. That was kind of an awkward play and she figured out a way to make it happen.

And she defended Carrington on the post up, forcing Baylor to improvise on the last play, and came up with the rebound with 2.7 seconds left in front of Egbo and Smith.

She is now playing like the player we all thought she would be. She saved our bacon.

And if you want to be a UConn legend, on the last play of the Elite-Eight game when the opponent's only hope is prayerful catch and shoot, don't play it safe with careful guarding. just become a free safety and make a daring interception of the last-second pass. Talk about aggressive? Paige is Wonder Woman.

Spot on. If. If not for the free throws late I think she would’ve gotten a bit more kudos. She showed up big time last night against very good defensive team. I hope she can keep it going.
