There are certainly some players on the roster. But this is a 3-4 win team and the schedule is much tougher. Just losing T Williams, Gratz and Wilson puts them behind the 8-ball. It would take a conference coach of year effort to get this team to a bowl next year.

I agree, only if PP and DL is still here!

One of the reasons I think this will be a highly sought after coaching job if P is canned is Chandler Whitmer. Coaches will look at this kids skill level and believe they could come in here and win right away.

Uconn has trouble with coverage short and over the middle, by lb's and safeties. WM and Syracuse Qb's made living off this. Defense can play against O'brien and Edsall and Holtz type coaches, more spread offenses or mobile QB with lot of slants not so much. Need more speed/talent to cover or else scheme/execution is answer but think former not latter.

I think coaches will be more likely to want to come here after learning most of the media are p*ssies.

He's listed as a senior, but I thought that he only played 2 years at Maryland. This is his first playing year at UConn, so I assumed that he had one more year of eligibility left. Anyone on the BY know if Donohue has another year left in terms of eligibility, or am I wrong about that?

I thought Donohue only had one year here but I'm no roster expert.

This is what I was basing my assessment on:

http://www.uconnhuskies.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/donohue_ryan02.html

He played at Maryland in '09 and '10. He sat out '11, and he is playing now in '12. So I thought that meant he would have '13 also.

EDIT: I just found my answer. He is indeed eligible for 2013! (or at least, according to the New Haven Register):

http://www.nhregister.com/articles/2012/09/12/sports/doc504fdffbb94c5349426422.txt

"Although a senior academically, Donohue came to UConn with two years of eligibility remaining. When starting outside linebackers Jory Johnson and Sio Moore graduate after this year, Donohue figures to move into a starting role in 2013"

I agree. Edsall sure left a mess behind when he left.

He knew recruitingnwasn't improving for him. Under-the-Radars are OK for roles herenand there. Can't make it with a roster full of them. Need the players that the other BCS programs want.
