I lived in the Jungle (New London Hall) from 1978 to 1981. It was almost always called the Jungle in those days, every once in a while there would be a reference to North Campus. We were told that the Jungle was built as temporary housing for the WW II veterans. The joke at the time was that the Jungle was built too well to be temporary, and not well enough to be permanent housing. As far as my room goes, my roommate and I kept the windows open all winter, otherwise the radiators would produce enough heat for a sauna. With the wind that would blow through, we referred to our room as Wrigley Field.

I'd love to know the date of that photo. Not sure when MSB was built, but that parking lot was long gone when I arrived on the scene.

MSB (now apparently called the Gant South building) was built in 1970.

Judging by the cars in the pic, I’d say that’s the mid 50s.
