5 star 2013 recruits at Kentucky. Throw in Poythress and Cauley-Stein that's 9 guys who think they belong in the NBA today and want to prove it. KY will probably have a great year just wonder if some of the earlier signees are regretting decision.

I know it seems like jealousy but to me it just seems goofy....more power to Calipari for pulling it off, just kind of takes the fun out of watching a team develop....KY fans must eventually get tired of it.

I'll take the occasional guy who bolts after 2 years otherwise give me teams made up of 3 and 4 year guys who develop and make great runs every 2 or 3 years....more fun and rewarding if you aske me.

I'm jealous that they're getting good players, but not jealous at all that they're getting all one-and-dones. One of the best parts of being a fan is watching the development of players for the few years they're here. It takes away such a big part of the enjoyment just getting new and different players every year.

Because if you're at the level of those 7/9 guys, you have the ability and the ego to think you're the best and that you won't be the odd man out.

A few of them will be wrong. But none of them will think it'll be them.

I have to say, I felt no attachment to Drummond mainly because he was a one and done. I don't even count him in my "UConn players in the NBA" total. I really forget he went here. I am not a fan of the one and done players. They don't represent our university. They're only there/here because they're being forced to be in college for a year.

No offense, but I think the people who talk about the "fun of developing" sometimes say that because their team isn't winning NC's. For me it's all about the NC's. We have 3. That's way more than most. Sure those teams were fun and it was great seeing freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors all contribute to the championships.

But the reality is if you are landing one 5-star recruit after another, kids are looking at you as a true destination school who continually recruits the best, and puts them into the NBA. I'll admit i'm envious of what Kentucky is able to do, but the $$ handouts is not something I would ever want to be associated with, and I know Ollie would never allow that.

If Wiggins goes to UK, I'm expecting a decommit from someone.

^^^^^^ I believe we win national championships, so I can only surmise you're not "offending" anyone on this board

seriously?

If literally the only thing you care about is NCs then it doesn't matter to you if we win with a bunch of one-and-done freshman, or with a bunch of seniors you've been watching for four years. I don't know if that's true for you, but it's definitely not true for me. It has nothing to do with whether or not Uconn has won NCs recently.

The fact that Drummond's a Connecticut kid who grew up a UConn fan doesn't count for anything? Absurd.

Oh, and Drummond's a couple years away from being UConn's best NBA player. Considering the league we're in right now, him succeeding as a pro could be pretty important for recruiting.

No it doesn't count for anything to be honest. Plus, didn't he just go to prep school in CT?

As for UConn's best NBA player, I doubt it.

I stand corrected then....

Still not a fan but that's my opinion. Everyone is entitled to theirs. I just don't see one and done players as a positive. But that's just me.

You realize they all don't hate school, right? Some of them are just that good. I mean, Durant could have come back and scored 50 a game as a sophomore at Texas but he was clearly ready for the NBA. I'm guessing most people on here would not have been upset if he had chosen to spend his year in Storrs.

High school players are idolizing the young fresh faces of Kemba and Drummond. So to say that Drummond was the worst thing to happen to Uconn basketball is totally false especially if he becomes the star that he should and represents the Uconn family well.

I am not jealous that they will most likely have to vacate any or NCs while the Squid is there. Just saying.
